Thanks so much for this video! It's super useful. I'd like to clarify a few things: 1. Can we customise ad extensions at ad groups or ads level (instead campaign level as shown in this video)? 2. Since the budget is set at campaign level, is it automatically split between ad groups and then ads, based on performance? Is there a way we can ensure each ad group receives a certain minimum budget, or is split evenly? 3. Where does the targeting piece fit in the campaign planning here, since we left out "Audiences"? A very basic example: if I want my campaign to target female audiences only, or the elderly, how can I do that? Thanks! :)
@Surfsideppc5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! 1 - Yes, you can update ad extensions at the Ad Group level. It's generally a best practice to use Ad Group level extensions. 2 - The best way to make sure your budget is split evenly is to watch your campaign closely and pause/enable ad groups. If I see most of the activity going into 1 ad group, I will pause it so I can get data for every ad group, then your campaign will perform better in the long run. 3 - After you create your campaign and publish it, you can click on your campaign, and then click on the audiences tab on the left-hand side. You can adjust bids for ages, genders, household income, and add audiences to your campaign. I went over Audience targeting a bit more here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5TRpYZ8q8eErbs.

I want to request you to make a video on understanding the business Model and then create Campaign. It would be better if you give a brief intro that I am planning to start this business and etcetc. Keyword research ,content writing and then come to create compaigns so that one has better idea about Ads and Ads groups. Overview of the business is important before creating any compaigns. I would suggest if you can make one long video for an hour or so to take some different Niches and tell how to sell things online.

@ZaheerMalik5 жыл бұрын
Hi, just a quick question. In the ad groups you actually put the same phrase once as a broad modifier and once as exact match. As far as I know using the same keyword in different match types in a campaign is not recommended. Is it the case for an adgroup too? Thank you.
@Surfsideppc5 жыл бұрын
I generally bid on modified broad and exact match in the same ad group because I like to optimize for quality score, especially for my exact match keywords. You can probably just bid on your modified broad match keywords once you switch to an automated bidding strategy because they will match the exact match version of the keywords as well. I used to bid higher on exact match keywords and lower on modified broad match keywords when the only option was manual bidding, but with Target ROAS and Target CPA, Google will optimize your bids automatically. It would be an interesting test for sure to see how a campaign performs with the exact match keyword and without, but the main issue would be if your keywords from different ad groups were competing with each other, which they won't if you have it set-up the way I do in the campaign.

Thanks for your question, it made me think about my own strategy, which I always appreciate!
@MM-PraiseHim5 жыл бұрын
The biggest challenge to Google Ads and conversion goals is that the entire system is set up for website interactions rather than simply phone calls. In the law firm industry, people don't go to a website to subscribe to content or fill out a form - they go there to read about the area of practice or attorney and then to CALL for an appointment. A conversion to me is when the call turns into a client rather than someone calls to ask for a free appointment.
@Surfsideppc5 жыл бұрын
Your best bet is to track each phone call & appointment request on your website as a conversion and tie it back to conversion value, in my opinion. So if you know that you drove 100 phone calls from Google Ads, and you can track that those phone calls lead to $10,000 in revenue, then each phone call is worth $100 for your business, on average. And if each appointment request leads to $200 in revenue for your business, then you can use those values for your Target ROAS bidding strategies. It's obviously not always that easy, but that's generally the strategy that I try to use.
@MM-PraiseHim5 жыл бұрын
@@Surfsideppc Totally agree but much of this will still be manual data entry :-). I wish we could automate intake better (I do know it's available).

This video helps me a lot thanks! For a free trial campaign (the user can download a free trial), what kind of Conversion action settings should I choose? (the category ect...) Thank you
@Surfsideppc5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I would consider that to be a Lead. However, if you have data that can give you a $ value every time I user signs up for a free trial, then you can use a Sale category. For example, if you know 100 trial sign-ups will equal approximately $1,000 in revenue, then you can say each new trial is worth a $10 sale for your business. Either category would work, but I would incorporate the cost data if you are able to.

@Surfsideppc5 жыл бұрын
I generally do modified broad match and exact match in the same ad group, especially when I'm using an automated bidding strategy like Target CPA or Target ROAS for the campaign. That allows you to optimize for your keyword quality score and the keywords won't compete with each other for the same search query.
