Sometimes I think they make the pricing hard to understand intentionally =(

in the always-on option, are you using "min instances"?

Yeah I believe "min instances" is how you configure those to be "always on" for Cloud Run.

I don’t get it. You start by telling us that you run your website on GC for a dollar a month and when you do the maths, it turns out to be around 50 but you still insist that you only pay $1. Dude, either you forgot to tell us about some discount you’re getting or your maths are wrong.

I see how this can be confusing - I should've made this clearer. Google Cloud Run is $50 a month if you use it for the whole month. However it's generally best when you don't use it for the whole month - that's where scale-to-zero serverless containers have their greatest strength. When no one is using it, they go to sleep - this means you don't pay for that compute because it's not using it. So the infrastructure that my site runs on would cost $50 per month if it was always on. But it's not - it's only on when requests come in and then goes back to sleep. So while the infra would cost $50, I only pay $1 because that's how much my site actually uses. For a deep dive into my site and how much it costs to run on Google Cloud Run ($1 per month), you can watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaXPmnyfd7BljNk
