Google just did their 2 hour demo called Google I/O - May 2024. It came the day after OpenAI did their release of GPT-4o. Who is ahead in AI? Google or GPT-4o? Did Google release Gemini 2.0?

Integration is a major theme. Workspace labs (integrates with Gmail, Google docs, sheets, slides, etc)
Multimodal is huge. Example with GoogleLM helping with homework. Upload a bunch of study materials, then GoogleLM can make a summary, quizzes, and even make an audio conversation based on it. You can join in the audio conversation and steer the conversation.
Summarize all of the emails from a certain person. Eg, emails from a teacher.
Agents! Google searching emails for a receipt, finding the order number, filling in a return form, and scheduling a pickup (not ready yet. “Working hard to solve”. Making things more expensive (returns are already a problem, if it is easier to do, more people will abuse it)
Agents for shopping, like booking a flight, choosing a restaurant or dry cleaners. (I can imagine not wanting to use that. I like to look for deals)
Google 1.5 Flash (faster and cheaper model) than Pro
Video Camera example - walking around an office with your phone. Asking questions about what is on the screen. What do I see here? What does the code on the screen do? Look out the window, what city am I in? Then say, “do you remember where I put my glasses? Then they say they do.”
Imagen 3 - More photorealistic, better with text, better with detail. Can try it with ImageFX
