Ma'am, I need some guidance if possible. I'm a brand new high school criminal justice teacher and recently recieved some awesome digital training and jamboard was part of it. One of the ideas I saw that sparked my interest was a student attitude check in. Essentially what it was was a slide with 5 different attitudes from Happy, nervous, tired, grumpy sad etc. It then assigned each student a fruit privately and the students would check in that way. How would I go about even creating something like that?

This was a very helpful video tutorial! I still can't figure out what the select arrow on the left side menu does. Also, is there a way to insert a link or video? Thanks!
@EdTechClassroom3 жыл бұрын
The select arrow allows you to click and drag on objects to move them. Unfortunately you can't embed links or videos into Jamboard yet (though they might add that as a feature in the future). A workaround could be to add the link into a textbox and then directing students to copy that link and paste it in a new tab to watch. If that seems too tricky for your students, I'd recommend using Google Slides instead! :)

Thank you. I would like to know more about using it with classes that are split into teams. Currently using with physical therapy students and have them split into problem solving teams. It works but I find it awkward.

Excellent tutorial on the basics, I really enjoyed your teaching style. Could you list some applications for this please? You already mentioned you could use it as an exit ticket/tool, mindmap, and for brain storming. I wonder how this would look as a "forum" for my elementary students to respond to a reading assignment throughout the week... as in a possible 3-2-1 Reflection template?? Would love to hear how other teachers are using this- Thank you for this video! Blessings :)

It's definitely a pitfall of Jamboard! You can check out Padlet if you are looking for a moderation feature. They are similar tools. I have a tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZqtqmeXeZx7arc The topic is Thanksgiving, but I walk you through how to make an activity and share it with students.
@elizamatagi83864 жыл бұрын
My 3rd graders like to hit the ʻclear frame" button and change the set background sometimes, is there a way around that? or is this another pitfal lol
@EdTechClassroom4 жыл бұрын
Another pitfall unfortunately. It’s a good opportunity to teach about digital citizenship, but of course, that doesn’t always work and they change it any way ;) Have you tried Padlet? That might be a good solution for you. It doesn’t allow students to edit those sorts of features. I always recommend that teachers use Jamboard for “low stakes activities.”

Thank you for your intro to Jamboard tutorial. You were thorough and I can start using the program tomorrow. I found a Jamboard on-line that has a few slides within the presentation, and made a copy. I'd like to use only one of the slides, but I didn't have any luck when I tried to copy it. Is there an option for that?

Where did you type copy in the browser? At the end?

Yes! You can delete everything after the last / and then if you type in "copy" and press enter, it should take you to a screen that allows each student to have their own copy of the file.

When I put the link in my a google meet chat, it will requires me to share it with my PreK parents. Do I keep it in editor mode or view Jen I share?
