You're correct, but technically he's right too, it was originally marketed in west as Dragon Warrior instead of Dragon Quest due to the "awesome" localization work done in the 80's and 90's.

we need a new Dragon Quest game for PS4 but keep the graphics the same as 8 bit and use the rest of the 500 GB storage for the games maps and story line. It would be huge! I want it to take 1,000,000,000 hours of game play to complete the game! I want it to have 1,000,000,000 Main quests with 5,000,000,000 side quests and have a world map just like the one we see here on GOOGLE Maps.

There once was a JRPG that did something like that, Romancing SaGa. It didnt have the most impressive graphics, but it's storyline was enormous. It didn't sell very well.

Cool rthrth hrtjuty! thanks for the info on that game. I just checked it out on KZbin and it looks awesome! The info said it was made by SquareSoft and I can see some resemblance between this games graphics and Final Fantasy III for the US Super Nintendo.

To anyone thinking this was just an april fools video. I remember that on that day, if you went to Google Maps, there was a small symbol at the corner of the screen that would convert the map exactly like in this video. It has some minor bugs (namely, twisted roads would be rendered well in 8-bits) but it was fun. Too bad it only lasted 24 hours.
