Cleaner install would be to patch and paint the wall in lieu of unsightly oversized trim kit. Wall repair is quick and simple the kit did not completely cover the area as you will still need to touch up either way. In the long run it will look cleaner since the thermostat is slim and compact. You will be glad you did as it will be much more discreet on the wall. 😊

FYI, the blower activation isn't a safety feature. It's more about comfort vs eco. You can either let the thermostat decide (eco) or the furnace (comfort). If you let the thermostat decide, it will usually activate the blower right away, giving you cold air before the burners get hot enough. If you let the furnace decide, it will usually let the burners run for a bit and then turn on the blower so it pushes only hot air.

I have question. I live in Texas and I have electric ac and whole home gas generator. So when I'm selecting the question about field source and what I use do I use electricity and will it work when the.gas generator kicks in if electricity goes off?
