Pretty cool deal. I just did the same in our house with an ecobee. Haven’t seen any savings yet. Nice ink buddy. Glad your doing well 🙌

Yeah for me the biggest thing is the convenience and cool factor...if it saves me money, that's just a bonus. Based on how easy it is to schedule changes, I probably will save money since my old ones were a pain to set schedules, so I never bothered. Thanks for the compliment on the ink...I can't wait for this shit to be over...I'm dying to get more.

Isn't there an issue with a constant voltage power wire needing to be run in some cases or is that no longer a thing or was it just not applicable to your installs? I don't recall that coming up anywhere during the video.

You are correct. Some installs will need a common wire, but it really depends on your system...some systems don't like the "power stealing" that the Nest does to keep the internal battery charged, but unfortunately, there's no way to tell until you install it and see. Mine has worked well without it so far.

Just an FYI...today, I did end up adding a common wire to my thermostat...not because it wasn't working (I've still had no issues) but I neglected to think about how the thermostat was going to get power once I shut off the boiler for the summer. Now I can shut my boiler off and the Nest still has power to stay on and charged. Video on that is coming soon.

That's a great point. I have zero knowledge of or experience with boiler systems but for those who do utilize them, I have no doubt that this will make a good FYI/Heads-up.
