Google one expiry | What happens when you exceed Gmail storage

If u delete files (say 10 GB) from that used 60GB, will there be empty space provided from the 60gb or Google will take back all the freed space again??

If delete 10GB from 60GB, you remain with 50GB storage.

@DignitedTV that means there cannot be empty spaces even after deleting files from the bought storage??
