Great video! But the problem I'm having, apparently others have as well, is that when I tap on "this device" under USB Preferences, it says "Couldn't switch". None of the solutions online seem to work for me. My Google Pixel is a 4a.

You can also transfer files without a cable to a PC or NAS drive through your wifi network but you have to install additional app eg Solid Explorer (tested on Pixel 6 pro windows 10 )

now when i insert a usb into my phone directly and hit "Copy To", I can only see internal storage and not my external device. The phone is aware that the usb is plugged in as I can view content, just not copy into usb. anyone else having the same issue?

Weird. I have pixel 5a and it used to transfer files to USB drive. But I guess some update installed and now when I try to copy or move pics to USB drive it's no longer working.

I can't figure out how to stop the "Android Auto" from automatically transferring files and data as soon as I tap File Transfer on my Pixel 2. It won't let me pick and choose. I miss my old HTC and original Pixel. Thanks for the video anyway.

I transfered the files to my computer using the cable. The files transfered but when I clicked on them to listen and watch. The audio and the video are out of sink. Why aren't they sinking ?

Nice video. You go at a decent rate that is easy to understand! One problem though... At 5:52 minutes into the video the name of your USB stick appears under Storage Devices. I plugged in a USB stick (Windows 10 here) with one picture on it, but the name of the USB stick does NOT appear as it should. I'm a new cellphone user - can you offer any suggestions to make the USB stick appear so I can up/download to it?

Hi Jeff: Excellent video! I have one wee problem: when I try to "group move" the files to a folder on my D: drive (Windows7; yeah, I'm a Luddite...) from my Pixel 2 XL phone, only a very few of them get transferred. The rest give me an error message: "Error: 0x80030001 Unable to perform requested operation." Typical message from Microsoft - tells me nothing. Any hints as to why it will move a few, but not most? All photos were taken the same day, as if that could make any difference. Thanks in advance! Cheers, JBK
