Both phone still great! As for recommendation, before buying any smartphone, there is a couple things need to be consider like what your really concern about smartphone? gaming performance, battery, camera, etc.. but most importantly ur budget.

My xz1 boots up faster than those xz3. Since no preinstalled Sony Bloatware and Google apps running on the background.+ lower 640p resolution scale helping perfomance much further😊👌

Is playing games while charging pixel 3 will affect its battery life

Battery will heat up when charging, and phone also gets hot when playing gaming. So, when you playing game while charging, phone gets too hot and battery life would be affected when it works in very hot conditions.

In my opinion, I could say still worth in 2022, but this pixel 3 & pixel 3xl will no longer receive software/android updates after android 12.
