Hey how is your experience with earpiece during call
@GrantLikesTech4 жыл бұрын
5 definitely was louder without the screen protector. I also agree the 4a top speaker is definitely better on my units as well. However, when I try various music on my 4a and 5, overall the 5 is louder at 50% and 100% volume. Not sure if it's just the individual units. Either way both 4a and 5 aren't nearly as loud as phones like the Galaxy Note 20 or iPhone 11.
@myproject13ttt4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback Grant, still waiting for your camera comparisons 🤔😃? Yeah my other smartphones get a lot louder, I do have to agree with you on that. I did try the 50% and well at 100% it's a lot louder than the 50%.? Oh well... I'm really enjoying my overall experience and sure an area like this could have been better but it's definitely not a deal-breaker, at least for me At $700 I can see why a lot of consumers or even techies may drop a negative on this area? There are certain areas that may not match up with that price point, but the beauty of that is Google has other devices you can choose from, if The Google Pixel 5 isn't going to check the boxes that need to be checked, look into a different pixel smartphone prices are dropping ( I'm mainly talking about pixel fans)✌️

Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it I noticed that it made a difference as well without this screen protector. I just tried something which I think is interesting. I went into Accessibility and shifted the audio balance all the way to the left and then watched a movie trailer. Obviously this is dependent on having the punch hole bottom left in landscape. It made it feel a lot more balanced and less muffled, there's probably a middle ground between not having it all the way left bias but I'm just playing around. It sounded better to me though with less boom boom from the bottom speaker and more input from the earpiece. To me it shows Google could very easily balance the audio differently.
@hard2bear31104 жыл бұрын
Can definitely hear the difference without the screen protector, I just wouldn't want to risk not running a screen protector for a bit of volume 😬. Part of me hopes Google will update the software and adjust the volume balance because I think at louder volumes it sounds better balanced. So if they could raise the earpiece speaker volume relative to the bottom, even if at a certain volume it just stayed the same volume in the earpiece, I think it would sound better. Thanks for the video!

@perogy14 жыл бұрын
@@johannesp.1159 I totally agree with the Pixel 2 speakers. I've been trying to find a new phone and have been failing. I am sensitive to PWM dimming. The Pixel 2's screen doesn't bother me, but the Pixel 4a 5g produced headaches within minutes. The sound was decent, but I could hear the body of phone vibrate due to some internal resonating. Next, I tried the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. It's just too big at 6.5", the screen uses PWM for ~30% and below, but the screen is so bright at lower levels that to not get a headache from brightness indoors, I would have to keep the screen at a lower brightness which would then give me a headache. The bloatware as well on the S20 FE was too annoying. I did what I could do to remove it using ADB, but some of it would keep reloading after reboot (eg. Samsung Internet browser, Samsung Pass). The camera photos are too saturated (greens, blues). The Pixel 5 uses PWM dimming, but at 350hz (Pixel 2 @ 245hz, Pixel 4a 5g @ 250hz). The size is perfect for one handed use (pretty much identical to the Pixel 2). I'm returning the S20 FE tomorrow and most likely skipping the Pixel 5. I love the fingerprint reader on the back, but the GIANT misstep of having the speaker under the glass prevents me from buying it. The S20 FE's top speaker is just a tiny grille on the edge, but it works and is nice and loud. If we could get Android on Apple hardware (even with 3 year updates).. Stick a fork in it, Samsung would be done.
@jkidd76084 жыл бұрын
Interesting side by side towards the end. 4a definitely sounds better which is a shame for me! I had a 4a and didn't feel like it was loud enough especially compared to my S20. I have a Pixel 5 ordered to replace my S20 and I'm a bit disappointed this speaker is under the screen. Seems to be an odd choice especially considering the S20 has smaller bezels and still has a speaker exposed at the top.

The Google Pixel 5 is an individual device is a great experience, but the problem is once you start comparing it to other smartphones, around the same price point, there might be some attractive areas that steal you away from the Google Pixel 5. What might keep you with a device like the Google Pixel 5 is it may have more areas that you want and need? in comparison to something else🤔 so it's all about those boxes being checked. Which smartphone out there around the same price point is going to have more of those boxes checked, that's most likely where your going to spend your money? I guess what I'm trying to say is just because one area may not be there that you want or need😖 there still might be many more areas that outweigh that one or two areas that you might be willing to sacrifice🤔... I also have a Pixel 4XL and I can play music on this and it sounds crisp, no distortion, full with true stereo feel. The Pixel 5 in comparison is quieter, lacking bass, tinny and harsh on full volume; it is almost opposite ends of the spectrum for quality! Maybe if you come from a device that had poor speakers you could accept the sub-par Pixel 5 sound, but the truth is coming from the Pixel 4XL it sucks big time. The rest of the phone is great but if you are going to get the Pixel 5 don't if you value speaker quality. To those that ask it is fine for phone calls but average, nothing to brag about. This is so sad for us that do not care about aesthetics, do not care if there is a slight top bezel to accommodate a front speaker, we have to play to those that whine about bezels and notches and dumb stuff that matter little in user experience. Well, another phone bites the dust...

I've had many GREAT smartphones with killer dual speaker setups and when I talk about dual speakers setups, I think about the Original Razer Phone🔥👊 that device killed in that area as did the ZTE Axon 7

What about phone calls quality on pixel 5 ?
@myproject13ttt4 жыл бұрын
I have T-Mobile here where I live in Portland Oregon, and connectivity for me has been great out about or in my home. My plumbing under my kitchen sink just went out on me, so I spent time calling around, different plumbing companies, also my mother-in-law just passed away so we're taking care of a lot of her personal matters, basically spending a lot of time on the my Google Pixel 5 making phone calls and receiving phone calls with no issues at all. But that's where I live I don't know what kind of connectivity you get where you live? So what's your opinion should I get the pixel 5 or the 4a 5g ???
@myproject13ttt4 жыл бұрын
Depending on if you want to save money? Do you need a headphone jack? Battery the 5 (4080) vs 4a 5g (3800) Ram the 5 (8) vs 4a 5g (6) Size the 5 (6) vs 4a 5g (6.2) These are the differences might be missing something but close The 4a 5g for what you get and the money that you’ll save is a really great deal. $200 difference right now, but if you do a little honey you might find a better deal out there. If I’m the average consumer and I am choosing between the two I would probably go with the Google pixel for a 5G especially because he got the same cameras and the headphone jack. Thanks for coming on by leaving feedback and hopefully your subscribe to the team.✌️

There is like very little to no sound coming out of the left side of the Pixel 5. It's literally like listening to a mono speaker. LOL, there's no difference when the reviewer puts his thumb on the left side because so little sound is coming out of it!

I agree with you my Google Pixel 4XL were better. but I'll tell you what was even better than that and that was the original RAZER PHONE, I wish I didn't sell that device. You know honestly I'm just super stoked to have the opportunity to bring in a lot of different smartphones and use them. The speakers are one of those areas that I really enjoy the most Smartphone, so sure yeah, the Google Pixel 5 could be better in that area but with everything else that's on the Google Pixel 5 as a whole, it is a very enjoyable experience so far.✌️

My opinion: this test for some people can be useless (for people who NEVER listening something from speakers). Much more interesting in case of phone conversation. How clear sound speech from under screen speaker? Is it a lot of sound leaks in case of this type of speaker instead of Pixel 4a? It seems to me that people around you hear more about what the person is talking about from the phone.
@myproject13ttt4 жыл бұрын
I honestly have nothing bad to say about the in display speaker it works great when I'm on the phone speaking to somebody else I can hear them really clear. It just doesn't get that loud when listening to music watching movies and videos but it's very rich clear experience with the audio that is behind delivered. thanks for your feedback I appreciate it, I don't know if you're subscribed or not? but if you aren't, please join the team 👊✌️

@@myproject13ttt Yes. Subscribed. But what about leaks? For people who near you during you talking on this phone.. Are they hearing more loudly speech (from earpiece)?..
@myproject13ttt4 жыл бұрын
@@Eduard-SF I would say that the leaks are normal I wouldn't say that they're completely unprivate on any smartphone that I have you can always hear the other person talking to a point without the speakerphone being turned on. I would say that the experience with that area is the same with any other smartphone that I have. I see a lot of people using Bluetooth earbuds for that purpose, to hide the other person that they're talking to so nobody hears what they're saying.
