Had a Pixel XL for 4 years, upgraded with Pixel 5. Pros in order of importance : - amazing os and experience. - battery life 1-2 days ! - compact and light (I was a bit sad the screen was almost smaller then my previous but actually enjoy the lightness and feel in one hand). - great screen. - great camera. Cons : - Speaker is terrible... - no XL option. - no face unlock.
@Sharky1654 жыл бұрын
Good & helpful feedback. 👍🏻 I’ve had my Pixel XL for a bit over 2 years, and am looking to upgrade...speaking to your Cons, I hands-on compared the Pxl 5 and 4a5G extensively at BestBuy, and decided I’ll be going with the latter if I buy a 2020 Pixel. The slightly “XL” size of the 4a5G is better for me, and its speakers are much louder than the Pxl 5’s. Also, I don’t see any material difference in the display Refresh rate (perhaps it’s most evident in something like gaming ?), and I feel that 6 GB of RAM is very adequate to run stock Android for the foreseeable future. In the end, it boils down to that I’m willing to “trade” wireless charging & an IP rating, for a headphone jack, lower price, and the aforementioned larger display and better speakers. The Pxl 5 is no doubt the nicest current Pixel, but I see it as a “tricked-out” 4a and a bit overpriced. BTW/FWIW, the Pixel XL never had dedicated facial recognition like the 4/4XL. So I assume you’re referring to Trusted Face, which was a cool & handy but not secure software-based solution, and (sadly) has been gone for over a year now...😩

@@christo-t7e for me its opposite, i am kind of in love with the uni bezel size all around which cant be found in any other phone. Its true that the speaker in s20 is better than pixels. I do like the design of the pixel it's very nice and I don't know if you know but if you download an app called side squeeze you can get squeeze for assistant back which is a fantastic feature . Switched from Samsung S8 plus to Pixel5. My previous phones are all Samsung and I totally recommend Pixel5. The battery life is so amazing and the user experience is better. If you have a magnetic phone mount in your car, make sure you don't place the metal sticky thing on the wireless charging pad located in the middle of the phone below the fingerprint sensor. Google also just developed cross-platform capabilities with Project Fi, so now I can take calls, texts, and Duo videos on both my Pixel 5 and laptop. That was a really helpful video. Thank you. I'm still using my Pixel 2 XL and could probably wait till the Pixel 6 if I manage my storage a little better. But I have been considering a new phone and it's either the Pixel 5 and it's reliable experience or the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE with more cameras and way more storage but awful firmware updates in Australia. With that in mind is there any chance of you doing a Pixel 5 vs S20 FE comparison?

Hey, so I’m considering getting the Pixel 5, but I have a concern. I had the Pixel 3A in the past and I loved it, but I went back to iPhone because the camera quality on social media apps like Snapchat, insta, etc looked terrible. I’m wondering can you make a video specifically showing what it looks like on social media vs say the iPhone? Also, I’m wondering what’s your process for transferring videos to your computer to edit since Pixels don’t have airdrop? Now that I make KZbin videos I’m a little worried about how difficult that will be. Thank you!

Not gonna lie, the biggest problem I had with past phones were the headphone jacks, I messed up my pixel 3a by getting my cord stuck on a random post on the street and it smashed it even with the protective glass cover, also the battery would always run out within 9 hours even less if im watching things. The pixel 5 fixes all of these problems for me AND is faster with more ram and a nice 90Hz display. Can't complain I don't think I could ask or want more from a phone tbh. If I want to play video games or edit things I have my gaming PC for that. Even other phones sporting better cameras, whats the point? Just buy an actual camera it's probably cheaper than dropping 1000 pounds on a phone.

The Face unlock on the 4XL is so good, and if you work from home mostly the mask wearing is less. It just seems that the fingerprint sensor is going back about 5 years. Hopefully the Pixel 6 will bring back face unlock. The camera zoom on the 4XL is better as well if you like to take closer up photos. Better speakers as well so when you look at the 5 compared to the 4XL the upgrade so to speak, is definitely debatable. The bezell less display is nice on the 5. To upgrade from the 4XL you'd have to have some issues with the 4XL that would make you upgrade. I haven't had any battery issues at all like some have mentioned.

My Redmi note 8 pro lasts a solid 2 days. light gaming (30 minutes of C.O.D), heavy KZbin, heavy social media, heavy texting and heavy e-mail. My pixel 5 feels cheaper, slower, and the screen isn't the best. Not saying the pixel feels cheap. The pictures are just slightly better than my Redmi phone. The only times it does it better is in low light. Video, let's just say my Redmi note 8 pro would fire the pixel as an assistant. Honestly I prefer my pixel 4. I got it used for 300 dollars. I upgraded the battery I put a 3300 mah battery I bought on Amazon. My pixel can see a full day no problem with all the features enabled.

"great screen" "great display" yet not a single mention of the OLED smear that appears in night mode/low brightness. While this is common among OLED screens, i feel this should be clearly mentioned in the video and perhaps include a demonstration as well

i've been stuck trying to figure out if i should upgrade to this or a 4a 5g from my 3xl. the larger screen on the 4a is definitely a plus for me, i had regular sized iphones before i switched to the xl pixel and i really have no desire to go back to a small screen lol
@Sharky1654 жыл бұрын
Go with the Pixel 4a5G ! I’m in a similar boat, having owned my Pixel XL for a bit over 2 years, and now wanting to upgrade. I hands-on compared the Pxl 5 and 4a5G extensively at BestBuy, and decided I’ll be going with the latter if I buy a 2020 Pixel.
