Just picked this up the other day, and I have been really impressed. Got it to replace my oneplus 7T, and I wasn't expecting much, but so far its been a joy to use. I haven't had any overheating issues, the performance is really smooth and snappy. Haven't missed my Oneplus at all and that's saying something. Great vid TK!

Great review TK! To me 5a was a little bit louder but 4a 5G sounded richer.. Nevertheless, it's a well-rounded phone and one of the best phones in 2021. I wish it was available in Europe.

I'm considering switching to the 5a from my pixel 4, rather then fixing my current one just seems like an upgrade even though it loses wireless charging. I'd wait for the 6 but every time I get a flagship from google they typically have the same issues for me ever since the Nexus 6p. Appreciate the video and all the content you put out

I think Google did a very nice job here. If I didn't like smaller phones (hence why I own a Pixel 5), I'd buy this thing instantly. It has all the basic covered, and I'd trade Qi charging for a 3.5mm jack all the time. This should sell the best of all 3 Pixels this year, especially come Black Friday.

Honestly with verizon I would buy it from them directly as they have some rules of what phones they allow on the network. it might work on LTE but no 5g. at the end you need to check the IMEI with verizon and that has to be done after you get the phone.

The SD765G is not a fast processor, it is behind the A11 which is four years old, usually mid-range SoC's are 1-2 cycles behind the current flagship, so this is more a third-tier processor? I suspect that is the reason it overheats? An iphone 13 can use the camera with just one performance core but I suspect the Pixel 5a has to use all its cores and ramp them up, hence the extra heat? I get why Google did it, they probably could not do a proper Pixel 5a due to the chip shortage and the relatively low sales of the Pixel 5/4a meant they had a stockpile of SD765G chips. So they just dumped them in the 5a. I get that but do not agree with it and they should not be praised for using such an old and aged chip, just look at the Nord2 and you realize fans are being played?

The 765g is technically slower than a11 but it has much better neural engine and is more efficient built on Samsung 7nm euv vs tsmc 10nm , the heating is totally a software problem and will be fixed , I've been using the 4a with 730g and experienced no real heating problems at all
