@@Super.5th I've not encountered such an issue. John was also testing in the worst scenario possible. The screen was surely at max brightness and the hot sun was beating down while the processor was trying to do heavy calculations, HDR processing video frames, silhouette cutting, blurring and tone mapping. My phone hasn't done any of those things.

I’m excited to get my regular 7 in snow. Should be getting mine on Wednesday. Was concerned about the software bugs but it seems like Google fixed them this year. Then they finally fixed two of my biggest issues with the 6 series, the brightness was increased then added face unlock. Even the faster fingerprint sensor is great. The 7 pro looks like an excellent device, but for $300 less I feel like the Pixel 7 is a much better deal.

I got the pixel 7 pro from AT&T and the pixel 7 unlocked from Best Buy ($480 pixel 6 trade in!). I absolutely love both of them! Super smooth, haptics are next level, software is straight butter!!! For 1 handed operation, pixel 7 is a dream! That telephoto zoom camera on the 7 pro is great! G2 chip is great! Fingerprint is much better.... For the price, PHONES OF THE YEAR!!!

For me my S22 Ultra overheated 4 times and I gave up. 4K 30p video and zoom meeting. For the 4K video shortest was 7 mins. I missed my kid's event but lucky my wife had a camcorder with her. So I bought Z Flip 4 and this also gave up on me 4K video. So I bought Pixel 7 Pro. So far I have not really took long video so I don't know if it will overheat Love taking moon pictures using 100X zoom on S22 Ultra.

Maybe the overheating problems have to do with the the screen issue which the pro models have? They've shown in a test that the battery consumption is way higher than other phones when being in direct sunlight. That could explain why it just overheated when you were filming outside because there the display reaches its max brightness

I got my P7 today. Men this is new level. I have been using Android and iOS back and forth my last iteration with Android was on Samsung Galaxy S4. I decide to try this past week Android again as a backup phone and men so far the level of AI behind, Google assistant, the AI on camera is impressive. Definitely more to try but so far. Earlier I use the recorder app in a conversation and got the transcript was mind blowing.

I agree I wished it would have came in a mate version. Super slippery with all the gloss. Mine is heating up when playing games. Just on the left side. Seems to be about an inch wide but the length of the bottom part. I turned down the settings in that game and it did help! But not in the others.

it's going to heat up. that's natural. all devices heat up, consoles, computers, smartphones etc.. It doesn't get excessively hot does it? i know mines doesn't. i normally play apex legends, new state, COD, immortal and a couple more.

@@kevinpitts3548 i haven't used a temperature gun but i seen those who have. it was normally around 36 degrees celsius. got as high as 42 i believe it was playing genshin which is far from optimized for tensor chips right now. everything else was around 36 to 38 after continous gameplay. my last 2 devices were s21ultra and 6 pro. it seems to stay cooler then them both not by much if guessing by hand. what games you play? i think i mentioned the ones i rock.

@@25eazi I haven't tried genshin yet. I hear it's good. I was playing Diablo again to test it out. There random dice game that on high, it will get warm. I gave up on Cod. Never tried Apex but thought about it. I believe they have designed a really good chip, but I do believe if they let tmc make it would be better.

The battery drains overnight while idle by 12 to 20%. Why isn't anyone talking about it? The problem still hasn't been addressed. I thought Google said the phone is optimized better than the Pixel 6?

Since I don't work for TMZ I have no complaints of the camera lol. It's so much stuff I have to learn how to operate and that is what I like...a long time before getting bored. Badazz smooth function phone. It is so smooth I don't even use 120 refresh rate...not needed for regular use. I came from Note20 Ultra... thought I'd miss my stylus, but it's like not having a sun roof, but instead have a glass top. I still draw and take notes with my finger. Battery is batter than my 20 Ultra. Came with Android 13. I got the 512GB since no SD. But, my bonus is the dual SIM capability...I can have two phone numbers with one phone. Google Pixel did it's homework.

I was wondering if anybody else has noticed how the pixel 7 pro screen is very Yellowish? It's got a reddish yellow tint to it that makes it look like an ancient amoled screen from 12 years ago. I own a note 20 ultra and a Xiaomi mi 11 and I can tweak both screens and the difference is very very clear. There is no Livedisplay option on the pixel phone to tweak the screen colors

I got the pixel 7 pro, but I am unhappy with the pixels tendency to do boot loops. It goes in update mode, update and re-up dates the same android update. Never stops. Disappointed with Google android updates. Check out issue online

Remember when Samsung and Apple used to put a zoom on the secondary camera and then LG brought out an ultrawide camera? All the KZbinrs said I don't need a zoom camera, I would rather have an ultrawide camera to get more in the photo. Now we have gone back to KZbinrs raving about the zoom on phone cameras.

I've been carrying a OnePlus 7T since release, due to the company being purchased recently by OPPO, they decided to push out an India Update to my phone and many things stopped working on it... For me no, it is not a 100% go over the iPhone 14 Pro Max. That phone has an OS, and hardware that is already proved itself...and is very stable. Google is just getting started, and will be there sooner than later.

I notice that i had a issue with the 6 pro a couple months back. i noticed the phone wasn't really hot like that. So i switched to one of my other camera apps and kept recording with no issue. Which let me know that it's a bug in the camera app at the time. I haven't used cinematic video long outside on the 7 pro yet. i will soon.

Pixel 6 pro user, loved all previous generations but I think I'm gonna miss this out and try a Samsung 23 ultra next year. Pixels are great phones but underwhelmed lately. Gonna see how the Samsung line ups are, there ui system and customisation etc. One thing I think I will miss is the stock Android on pixel

I'm considering switching to Google from Samsung but I'm thrown off by some of reviews I've seen. While Google seems to have the software and AI thing under control, Samsung hardware is unmatched. I'm also a Galaxy Buds Pro 2 and Watch 5 Pro users....and Googles wearables are just not as good IMO. Decisions decisions.

@@WannyPena in my honest opinion I'd say don't listen too much just try it for a few weeks, then weigh it up against the other, I will say is don't be fooled by the pixels battery to begin with, the ai learns all that and after a month or so it gets wayyyy better. I think I'll do this with the s23 ultra, I want to try it's version of Android, the s pen. It's customisation and features for 2 weeks then if I'm not keen I'll hand it back within its time limit and just go with the 7 pro 👌

The rear cameras are stunning literally top 1. The front camera on the other end is a bit grainy and has Terrible dynamic range when taking video. Regardless I give the phone a 8/10 with a really good software update it can easily hit a 9.5 because you know no phone is perfect 😂

If you want to try a new form factor, go fold instead. I used the flip for a while and the usability was only appreciated when folded into small. Other wise the phone is not great.

I personally had the fold 2 &3 and after seeing the 4 I went back to the candy bar slab phone. The battery life for the fold was awful. I chose the s22 ultra but maybe I should have waited for the pixel 7 pro.

@@Schrsmnymkr 🙏 Yeah, the Fold4 for sure doesn't have a good usage metric, but less than 5000mAh for more screens than any non foldable is not a great thing. But wouldn't go back to a flip now for any reasons. BTW, I have a P7P too (replacing my P6P) and the phone is such a great value.

I'll take Xperia pro, the zoom is smooth, the colors are better and shoots at 4k 120fps, the only phone that can do that...when it comes to point and shoot then iPhone is good but in terms of the best results in any mode, then by far is the Xperia, closest to alpha camera....

There was an issue reported concerning the power draw of the screen when on high brightness north of 600nits out in the sun, that could be contributing to heat issues. The developer of the Despair kernel for Pixel devices is already helping fix that by limiting the wattage draw by the screen on a kernel level therefore Google shouldn't have a hard time doing the same officially

It's good news. Just it's the Sammy exynos co-operation causing the heating issue just like by the tensor 1 and sd8 gen chipsets which are having same heating issues for same reason. I've read and seen much feedbacks that any brand overheating for one reason or another but each is due to sammy exynos. Software can be good, just chipset can handle it since it's cooperation with sammy? Let's hope that they can fix it. Ps: no huawei bann already would have fixed it.
