Google showed off its Assistant having a humanlike conversation with someone at a hair salon and a small restaurant. Google CEO Sundar Pichai explains Google Duplex at Google I/O.

I don't think that analogy crosses over anywhere close to what you think it does. You assume that the person can lose weight. I'm sure we're on the same page on if/how those are possible, sometimes. It also assumes the person can't walk due to being fat, which is pretty wild considering the slew of reasons a person can't walk leading to being "a fat fuck". Initially it looks like you have zero understanding or empathy for others, but i think it's something else. I think you're too wrapped up in trying to make your own thoughts into a meme, that it comes out with only a fraction of the info you had, and a fraction of that made it across.

The only way to overcome social anxiety is to confront your fears. Before you make a phone call to make a hair appointment try first calling a friend or family member. You will find it is easier to speak to a stranger after speaking to someone you are comfortable with.

For someone that has a difficult time speaking to people or a mute trying to call or talk to people, I find this extremely helpful and exciting. Able to place appointments, or have it automated so we don't have to stress about it later on or forget. And if they automatically add it to your chalander agenda it will be a blessing.

One of its use can be tedious calls where a Google Duplex can interact with other Google Duplex and Data is fed into the Systems, making Appointments for example where there are fixed slots. This will definitely shake receptionists and call centers, but I think can't quite work very well when human is on the other side as tackling emotional responses may not be easy (at least as of now).

Here is how you can code yours.. As I hate Google these days and as this is their video...here is how you can do it on AWS. *I have no commercial interest from Amazon 1. AWS Lex. Configure your task..Sth like Make appointment, Order Pizza, Order flowers as an Intent in AWS Lex. Lookup a template on their website. Use Order flowers one. It is more clearly defined. 2. AWS Connect. Use this service to make phone calls 3. AWS transcribe and Polly. Make a API call to transcribe and convert other person's voice into text and convert your text (scenarios) to voice 4. Lambda. Use lambda to trigger any calculations or complex scenario handling. Use Order flowers as a template and put your code on top of it. Add this to your Alexa device as a skill and you can converse with her to do all this. All that fancy Mm-Hmm sound ...or scenarios and fillers like these can be easily handled by polishing your code. Hell, for ordering a pizza you don't even need to make a phone call. Domino's has an API. Just make Alexa trigger your coded skill, handle your ingredients, and direct a Lambda to make Dominos API call to order a pizza. What Google implies by they are working on, is maybe they are trying to figure out which salon to call. As they already have your data (Android/phone) and they track you wherever you go, they can make this fancy. You can customize yours. Additional help is available in KZbin videos. There is one from a lady in Ireland and it is really good.
