Google's Location Permission policy demands a new permission screen before your location is determined.
A geostationary satellite, with radio and tv channels, is located at a fixed position (latitude, longitude, distance from earth) in the sky. Because the satellite cannot be seen from earth one can find its position in the sky with the help of some calculations that require the current GPS location (where you are), the satellite's position, and a compass reading. With the help of internet the GPS location is translated to an address to demonstrate the correctness of the GPS location.
The calculated direction of the satellite is then displayed on the phone's screen as a ball that has to be aligned to an arrow, which is also displayed on the screen. Once both are aligned the arrow points to the satellite position in the sky.
