My PC is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi. However, whenever I try to open my installed app that requires an internet connection, it says, “Please connect to the internet.” Interestingly, the default Play Store app runs without any issues. Could you please suggest a fix for this problem?

So you can only install this on C Drive and it forces you to run Hyper V? That makes me wary as I read threads on reddit about people bricking their computers downloading this and having to reinstall windows with a usb drive. Or that it lags after closing and needs to be forcefully ended in task manager since it'll continue running in the background.
