Hey Sam, if i have a store that sells different coffees of different sizes and flavours, how should i segment my shopping campaign? Campaign - Ad Group 1: Small Bag (each flavour broken out into product groups) - lowest bid - Ad Group 2: Medium Bag (each flavour broken out into product groups) - moderate bid - Ad Group 3: Large Bag (each flavour broken out into product groups) - highest bid

Your segmentation structure looks good if you purely want to control spend on products by size. I imagine there a significant price difference by size too? There are few things to consider for alternative set up. I would segment by flavours, the search terms here will be one of the biggest drivers of performance. If you have different flavours in the same ad group you will have no control of which product shows for which search terms. I would suggest each flavour has its own ad group and within those ad groups you segment product groups by size. You can then direct flavour/taste search terms to the most appropriate ad group and still manage bids by size so the largest bag has the highest bid and lowest has the cheapest bid. Keep in mind your budget size and amount of flavours, if you have a small budget and a lot of flavours then the above segmentation will be less effective so your original idea or a catch all would be more cost effective.

Hi Sam, I am finding all sorts of hugely useful nuggets in your course - absolute gem! Quick question..in the UK we have a VAT charge added to all products of 20%. So a revenue of £100 will be £80 revenue and £20 payable in VAT. As a business we offset VAT we receive against VAT we pay. However, Google DO NOT charge us VAT so a £100 charge for clicks has no 20% VAT charge offset so literally costs us £100. So...QUESTION is , in your calculations ( ROAS) etc and importantly for the the customised metrics you show how to set up I am assuming that I would need to capture the ex VAT revenue otherwise all calculations will assume we have 20% more revenue than we do. Have I got that correct?

Hi! Love this course! Thank you for making it! I'm working on the manual bidding worksheet (~3:28) and your last column is showing negative profit generated for products with clicks but not conversions. My entire last column is zeros. I've tried copy and paste the whole sheet a couple of times. The formula is Conversion Value *0.3. How are you getting values without conversions? So important to me bc I have so little conversions!! Google will read the product feed to match all the data given to users' search. So it's vital you have the title optimized; here, you can add powerful keywords and product descriptions so google knows which searches to show your add for. Also, you'll need the correct product attributes filled for your feed, such as google product category selected, GTIN/MPN added, and Brand filled with color, size, and material added too. When done right, you can ensure your product shows up for searches that are more likely to lead to a sale.

You can build it in Google Sheets or directly in Google Merchant Center. It doesn't matter from the ad management perspective, but keep in mind that you can't apply supplemental feeds to products made directly in Google Merchant Center.

Unfortunately, you cannot advertise services via Google Shopping. The Merchant Centre is there for physical goods, and where a digital exists alongside a physical product. You can still advertise your course with Google Ads. You can run Performance Max, Search, Display, Discovery, and Video ads for your course. I'd recommend getting conversion value set up in your ads so you can optimize performance on sales and revenue. Search will be your best campaign type to start with and build sales. KZbin is another great option with video ads, granted you have professional creatives to push.

Hi Abinash, POD is a product fulfilment method rather than a product type, so as long as you have the product on your website with all the relevant details, you can advertise it on shopping.

Hi, I have a question, how can I safely split a PMAX campaign? I have 1 campaign with 2000 products set to tROAS 11, I want to divide it and put bestsellers (around 490 products) in the second campaign and not give them any restrictions, i.e. bidding on maximize conversion value

Hi, There are two important things to note here before splitting. 1. How similar are your products? If the best sellers and the rest of the products share the same brand and product type, then there will be overlaps in your Pmax campaigns. 2. Which products are driving sales in the existing campaign? If the best-sellers are the main ones driving sales and ROAS, I would turn that campaign into the best-sellers campaign and create a new one for the rest of the products. You'll be able to capitalize on the momentum and past conversion history. If that's not the case, I would put the best sellers in a new Pmax campaign with maximum conversion value. Exclude the best sellers from the existing campaign and vice versa. Depending on your budget and account history, your new campaign may take a while to match the existing one, so make sure you give it at least 30 days to run.

Whats the best way to sell with multiple stores on google. One Google Ad Account Linked with all Merchant Centers of the stores or also a separate Google Ads Account for each Store? Because if I have everything in one google ads account, do I need to choose the purchase conversion goal on the campaign for the specific store? Like on facebook choosing the pixel which is used? Because I wanted to set up my brand search campaigns for both stores but I'm not able to change the conversion goal. Or will google figure it out by itself with the domain?

Hey Sam! Amazing course, really enjoyed it. Quick question - do you see a correlation between high CTR's and sales? I have 3-4 accounts with a 1% - 2% CTR that have consistent sales. But then I have a couple of accounts that have < 1% CTR, around 0.50% CTR and they struggle to get conversions! My thinking would be to improve product titles and maybe segment products into ad groups by category (as listed on the website). What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Hi, I am glad you enjoyed the course. There is normally a correlation between the CTR and the CR. The CTR shows the interest of users in your ad / website, so the more relevant you are to the search query, the more high value traffic you are receiving and normally that transforms into sales. You must consider that if the offer is not good enough, or the webpage is not clear/well designed, you might be receiving a lot of traffic but not converting. A good CTR is a very good signal. I suggest you look into the average CR in your niche and see where you are in comparison.
