Been using an imported Chromecast since 2 months. Took a while to learn the new UI but overall it's amazing. I also somehow was able to use the Chromecast remote on Android TV when connected and had to deal with weird redundancy

Android TV settings were more useful as you can adjust the picture settings and see the settings take effect in the picture at the same time.

lol, you are not getting the point. Android is an open-source operating system and anyone can build a fork out of it like One Ui, Color OS, Oxygen OS in phones. In TVs Android TV is the open-source version, Google TV is Google's fork like One UI and Chromecast is hardware like Galaxy phones. In fact, Fire TV is also built on Android TV.

As someone with an older Sony TV with an Nvidia Shield, I would've agreed with you before I got my new Sony Bravia X90J with built in Google TV. Suddenly, all of the hassles/headaches of audio syncing, HDMI CEC issues, and any other problem I had with audio, input, etc. are suddenly all gone! My biggest annoyance was launching Spotify on my Nvidia shield from my phone/laptop, and I'd have no actual control of the TV volume, the slider just adjusts 'software volume'. With the new Sony with built in Google TV, the volume slider actually works, because the OS knows the actual hardware sound level (even though my sound is through an HDMI ARC compatible Sony soundbar that I've had for years. So ya, while I would've agreed with you before, I completely disagree now. It's much better to have built in, and if you really want to, you always still have the option of adding a smart device yourself and keep it on that input.

This ui update will be received on the recent android tvs also very soon in India, buying the new Chromecast is not necessary. Already rolled out in us,canada and the uk.

I got an android tv which was from brand Vu. I was so excited as they mentioned it will get oreo update at that time. but what they did is, they launched the same tv as 2nd version with oreo and I'm stuck with nougat now. if I install this will it make me feel better?

Make note that fire tv 4k dosent support Dolby Atmos,not sure about Dolby vision, even in the settings no option to force Dolby Atmos, tried with multiple fire tv 4k,the same issue,tried contacting customer care they don't respond positively
