Thank for this good review. It is very important for me, because I will have to replace my Apple Airport hardware in the near future. Apple has unfortunately stopped the development of the Airport (since about 3 years?) and there are rumour, that they will abandon the product. So I am very happy that there is now a similar easy to setup system available. There are also other products on the market, but I am not sure how long these (startup) companies will exist. Apple has chosen LG for their new external monitors. Will wait and see, which product they will choose for the AirPort replacement...

Damn pretty insane how much faster it did that network transfer. Cool stuff. Now I feel like I need one of these lol. Would only need 1 unit since I'm in a 1 bedroom apartment but still think my million devices could benefit from this.

Were these WiFi speeds? Or was your computer connected to the ethernet port in the node? I'm having a hard time getting higher than 6MB write / 10MB read to my Synology. In a 2800 sf house with 3 nodes. Same results even if I'm right next to my main node.

I don't, but it's really just a plug-n-play solution - that's all I really did.

So with Google Wi-Fi I will replace my existing Wi-Fi router as the primary connection in my living room. Can I Use an existing ethernet cable running from the living room into the bedroom? and plug in second google Wi-Fi and make that run off that hardwire. But still enable the mesh Wi-Fi.

Unfortunately yes they only have one port, so I have switches connected to every Google Wifi point.

You mentioned people in your house using the WiFi during your test that makes your results flawed. I hope you did the same test multiple times to check accuracy. Wish you added chart showing speed test result, nearly feel asleep listening to all those numbers but it was nice to see the test performed, I think shown once is enough. Maybe also add a diagram showing the setup. my 2 cents

idk, its either my cable or something else is wrong. I have my Computer hooked up via Ethernet because it cant connect wifi and I get 50 mbits download (directly connected to the Google Wifi thing). Then I take my 2005 Lenovo Laptop and I get 900 mbits download (I should have 1 GB) ... then again i changed cables buying alot more expensive one for 150 Euros and it still doesent get any better. Im about to buy a wifi antenna for my pc

+Techie4life yes, but Synology allows you to do that with their awesome DSM and it doesn't matter what router you use.

Yes. The device will see it as wired and the internet work will be passed to the Google Wifi.

Nope all 3 of them are full blown routers.

That's the thing, it's all through the Android/iOS app, there isn't anything else. This is definitely not for those that want to tinker with settings.

So no web interface. Web app has limited setting adjustments, 5 or so from what videos are showing. So its a "Router Lite". Not really a fully blown router. Would still like to see all the UI options.

You should review Amplifi. Better solution and less expensive. Made by a company that actually does Wi Fi full time.
