Making websites fast is one thing but the increase of Cookie banners, GDPR notice, and asking for notification permission (sometimes altogether at once) is ruining the UX no matter how fast the page loads.

1) The "image" part of this talk is extremely well executed. Simple and efficient. Every dev should see that. 2) I tried rel=modulepreload and, for now, it seems less efficient than bundling.

Agree with #1. I lost it on the Javascript part where he talks about all kinds of bloat and tools that feels like too much complication for my workflow.

Are you serving over HTTP/2? v.1 has no multiplexing so the many request caused by native module loading can be very slow. Which is not to say that HTTP/2 will actually outperform bundling, it probably won't.

Ahh, yes, we should replace the "flash of invisible text" with the "flash of unstyled text". Anyone else remember when the "flash of unstyled text" was the browser default but every best practice guide discussed how to replace it with the "flash of invisible text"?
