Never get the hate Eldar gets. In the hands of an inexperienced player, almost all of the units fold easily.

Because eldar can have lots of gotchas. In 7th edition, the wraith knight was the only non Apocalypse/Forge World model that was a gargantuan monstrous creature, which meant very little could hurt it, let alone stop it but GeeDub has ever given over power rules to kits they’re introducing and trying to move. But they can be a hard army to play against.

They are like Tau can be real punishing to play against with all of the fire and fade stuff. Also having fixed rules is a bad mechanic when you can just go oh look a 6 for damage. Other than that they were incredibly broken in 7th and in 8th soul burst was a broken rule. Personally I like armies that have high expressions of skill all of the detachments look interesting except maybe tje wraith one

Except for the times this wasn't the case (which was several over the last 30 years). You didn't need an "experienced player" to abuse fate dice, just someone with a grade 6 reading level. Another reason for the Eldar hate is the attitude of Eldar players.

I mean it's probably the army that is the most often broken out of all of them. This attracts power gamers. No other army comes even close to the % of players that just play the army because it's powerful and abuses its rules. It's also important to note that other armies that are also often strong (Space Marines for example) still give you way more counterplay. Usually Eldar combos just blow your stuff up without you being able to do anything about it. Their weakness is negated in many editions by players who can pilot them because you often cannot retaliate

Winner of this codex is the wraithguard D-Scythe. Going from bs 4+ ap4 dmg1 to torrent ap3 dmg1 is insanely good!

Why , why do wind raiders become battline? My bikes got removed and the outriders don't get any such rule, in a detachment where most stuff asks fir miunted stuff.

10:54 I wish they too the opportunity to change the names between wraith lords and wraith knights. The bigger kit (wraith knight) should be called a wraith lord, and the smaller kits (wraith lords) should be called wraith knights imo.

It's an eldar knight mech, like imperial Knights hence being called a knight... Wraithlords are ghost robots controlled by the spirits of craftworld heroes and nobility. They are lords while wraith guard are not

Agreed, it isn't very good in at least two ways. Eldar players will wonder if the opinions here are the result of a bias against Eldar (I don't think they are, but people could get that impression), and it is yet more fuel on the elf-hate bandwagon which is really tired and divisive.

Does anyone else think channels like this calling them "aeldari" is part of the early release package for GW affiliates? ie. GW instructs them to call them by the copywrite(c) name? i've literally never heard them called that irl even once. not a single time. even newer players tend to call it the natural "eldar" which is a real word that has actual cultural cache outside of the GW post-chapterhouse ghetto.

I've been playing Eldar since about 8th edition, and while I definetely only used Eldar initially I pretty naturally picked up the Aeldari term as I expanded my collection into Drukhari and Harlequins... I can't speak for other players, but personally I felt that 'Eldar' would quickly get confusing when you start throwing in Dark Eldars and other variants, but mostly I just think it sounds kind of cool and mystical, there really isn't that much to read into it.

Yeah, so folks, let's get one thing strait. Eldar are Tolkien elves who walked on Valinor. Gw never should have stolen that word for their space elves, and if they were going to, they should have made them proper Tolkien style elves and not given them the awful single edged swords. When they all have swords that look like witchblades or the wailing doomz then you can call them Eldar. Ignore the op, he is clearly an idiot.
