That doesn't mean they're not talented, it means they taking advantage of an industry norm to not pass out from exhaustion onstage. Some singers DO sing live with this (and more rigorous) level(s) of choreography, but are often barely holding on by the end of the number and need a break to catch their breath before the next number (common in Broadway/theatre). Also, I don't know whether or not his performance here was lipsynched, nor do I care, because to me that's not the point. He's proven he's capable of holding his own in every type of art he's showcased to us, and I enjoy it all regardless. It he is, cool! If he's not, I hope he held up okay after the performance; also, very cool.

Jack Black really was the perfect choice to voice Bowser for the recent movie. He has the absolutely critical goofy/silly energy while being able to pull off the big guy's intense, threatening behaviors at the same time. It’s literally the only song in the movie sung by a character, they specifically wrote it to have a memorable and catchy chorus, they cast Jack Black to sing it which would of course bring instant success, and I could go on. Nothing is unintentional especially these days. Producers are constantly thinking of what could go viral and how to appeal to TikTok audiences especially. You can see that with most pop songs written and this is no exception considering it was always up for an Oscar nomination

Your point about the producers trying to be trendy or make something go viral is valid, but they only have so much control over it. As far as them casting Jack Black to sing the song, I guarantee the song was written well after he was cast and casting him in an animated role is a no brainer, but it doesn't guarantee that a song whose lyrics are 80% the word "peaches" is going to resonate and /or be a hit. It happens that it was, partly due to Jack's talent, partly due to good marketing (they spent a boat load advertising this movie) and the rest was dumb luck that it actually went over. As far as an Oscar nomination, again, wouldn't matter if it was very good, only so many original songs in movies and they have to fill the category, so will it win, probably not unless they have one specifically for animated children's films. I love Jack Black, but you speak as though all of these things are certain, but most of the audience of this movie don't even know Jack's actual music so it could have easily flopped. Look at the Chris Pratt backlash when the first trailer dropped.
