I was at Philly, 1st show in person. Streamed Colorado and last night of Atlanta on this tour, and asked myself what am I waiting for?! Couldn’t miss a local show so the Mann it was. Such an epic night, I almost went to this, but unfortunately I couldn’t pull it off, but I’ll be at Holmdel for sure. Best live show I’ve seen in ages, well not including the phish from Vermont, but first time I’ve been 10@% locked in the entire show for any band not named phish in like 20 years

@@atamagashockagreed, this is the most excited I’ve been about a band since I discovered phish in the 90s. I’m from CT so I’ve been hearing about goose since 2019 but didn’t give them a chance until a few years ago but it still didn’t really click. I couch toured the Taboose webcasts and finally got it, then I started diving deeper. I wish I had seen them sooner, they were playing small places all around me five years ago

So happy for the boys. I was at the SPAC show last year (23’) where Peter announced to the crowd that was their largest headlining show to date. SPAC holds around 5,000 people - less than a year later they are selling out stadiums that hold nearly 3x the amount. I’ve been telling people whom want to listen since 2020 that this band with be our generations Phish, DMB, GD, etc. We haven’t seen a band on the Jam scene on a while with this level of crossover-ability. They can become a household name through their music and having a family friendly environment. Their music can be shown on tv and the radio - just heard them this week at a large chain gas station. Not to mention the co-signs they’ve been getting from legendary musicians. We on a rocket ship to the moon boys and girls.

@cosmicDIAP3 ай бұрын
There’s something about them that either keeps you here or inspires you to come tell us why you don’t like them, as if a true fan needs your approval. I’m trying to understand why your “format” of apparent music lover would spend your time here?
@mkwilson383 ай бұрын
@@cosmicDIAP ‘as if’ is right -lol :) you are obviously offended in some weird way (::reads your handle:: oh I see -lol) So is your question about the format of bands or why a random person such as me is on YT or why I’m commenting on a YT vid? Whichever it is, I am here because I can be. I can watch things, I can comment opinions, I can mention other bands to people, etc… Im waisting time, checking stuff out and commenting. Is that ok with you? If you have a real question, ask it clearer and I’ll answer.
@cosmicDIAP3 ай бұрын
@@mkwilson38 Think it’s pretty clear what I’m asking. It is: Why waste your time here if you think so little of the band? I don’t think “Because I can“ is much of a reason unless I’m talking to a 5 year old. I’m honestly trying to figure this out.
@cosmicDIAP3 ай бұрын
@@mkwilson38Maybe I’m just in a bad mood. So, to be less argumentative, I’m just seeing a lot of people who are not giving the band any chance. I get it too, there are tons of vanilla bands sounding the same and not offering anything special. I just don’t think it’s fair to put goose in that category without actually listening to a few shows from start to finish and really hearing the originality of their sound and songwriting. It just feels like the more success this band has, the less chance a lot of people will give them. If wondering why I care so much, it’s mostly because I suspect we have a lot in common and probably dig the same kind of music, in general. So, apologies if you weren’t just slighting the band and minimizing our enthusiasm as music lovers and fans of feel good music! 😊
@mkwilson383 ай бұрын
@@cosmicDIAP yeah right. Like anyone in 2024 is wondering WHY people post comments and options on the internet. But ok. And It’s the second time that you’ve assumed and added words. I simply said “i just can’t seem to get into them.” You added your own interpretation. Then I mentioned some other ‘new’ things that I like. Ok, so there ya go. Spreading word on other stuff. I’ve been around the block, saw Jerry over 50 times, saw SRV, went to tons of String Cheese, .moe, STS9, Phish tons of time. At this point in the game, I like ‘different’, so I was mentioning it and sharing a couple to people that may be here and looking.. Sorry to inadvertently offend you and your band with my opinion and band sharing.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Goose. The music is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of music theory most of the songs will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these songs, to realize that they're not just amazing- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Goose truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "I'm So Ready to Madhuvan," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Rick Mitarotonda's genius unfolds itself on the stage in front of them. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Goose tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
