Goose runs away from gundog (field trial labrador) - Goose hunting in Holland (ganzenjacht)

ENGLISH SUBS! Put your brightness up, it was a cloudy morning.
This morning I was with Joe and Red and my mate on a post. They are both field trial labradors. Mostly from english bloodlines. The decoys and caller where doing a great job. This way the geese presented themself perfect for a good and ethical shot. If you are experienced enough to read the geese, there is no need to shoot too early and therefore shoot them too high. If they want to be there, let them come.
We shot Greylag, Canada, Egyptian and Barnacle geese.
The geese are a big problem in Holland. They do a lot of damage in the agriculture. At this farm they damage the grassland. They do not only eat the grass but they also foul it with there feces. And because they are with hundreds or even a thousand they trample the grassland. So you get wet and muddy spots in the fields. In this video I will show you the damage that the geese cause.
I filmed everything with a Gopro 5 and 8.

Richhunting, I’m quite lucky where I am. Near the coast and have 500 resident Canada geese and 150 greylag. We get whitefronted and barnacle geese but not allowed to hunt these species.

Most people don’t use the max of the GoPro. Because the files get really big. I film everything in 4K. You should watch it on 4K tv 😜

Когда гусь идет не большими стайками, до 7 голов, он гораздо охотнее реагирует на чучела. Большие стаи пролетают мимо. У нас весной они большими стаями летают, поэтому и приходится на 50 метров стрелять.

@@ВадимБаскаль Есть такое наблюдение..) Чаще мелкие стайки ниже летают. Но конечно бывает по разному у нас. В Калмыкии этой весной стаи по 40-70 голов налетали на 40 м, и на севере Волгоградской хорошо налетали. А когда яица уже жмут, прут без остановки в эшелоне

Great dogs! It's hard to find a more effective retriever than a working labrador. (I have a working springer that is very good too.) Can share any observations concerning the geese reactions to the colour of your dogs? Is there any difference between black and red/yellow as far as camouflage is concerned?

Almost year round. Nov til March Gerylag Barnacle and specks are closed. Egyptian and Canada year round because they are exotics. But this video is from 2 months ago. Its quiet, because they have chicks.

Anything but lead. But steel is the best and cheapest option. I shoot with gamebore blackgold nr 4 32 grams.
