Got my GOOSE tickets in London, England 19.5.23. Been following the guys for 3 years. Really looking forward to it !

Such phenomenal shows. The whole tour has been amazing and I believe historic, actually. They are ascending the ranks of not just jam bands, but all bands. I feel so lucky to be around for this era and to have seen a few shows in person (and the rest on Nugs/KZbin).

Love goose and was at the last show of the west coast run in San Diego. They killed it, but what makes the tour “historic”?
@davidbrown2207 Жыл бұрын
@@aloeup2121 Historic in the sense that this will be looked back upon as historically significant in the same way as we look back at ‘77 Grateful Dead, ‘96 Phish, or ‘71 Black Sabbath, for example. They are killing it, and they are the tip of their own sharp arrow, to be metaphorical. We are here, in the right time and location in this mysterious continuum… this specific era of history, and get to witness their artistry now. I know this is part of MY specific journey and will be part of my personal history, and already is. 👊🏻✨

@@davidbrown2207 coincidentally my first ever concert was Phish in San Diego ‘96 😀 I think those bands you mentioned were much more seasoned at the points you referenced. All that to say I hope Goose’s “golden year(s)” has yet to come. ✌️

Damn, that opening light fanfare almost gave me a seizure.😄 I've only recently heard of Goose, and they're even better than promised. And, once again, I'm awestruck by how much "funk" has made itself at home in the compositions of so many different groups. It seems as if Tower of Power just stepped off the stage and up comes Goose.😊

The last few minutes of 'Redbird' are very Santana-like. Rick is such a great guitarist.

Don't know how these guys showed on my feed, had barely heard of them, and don't know how I didn't continue to my usual Dead/Little Feat/TTB/Phish show but damnation...tight, bubbling, syncopated funk is really difficult to maintain. Where'd these guys come from?
@MustHaveMedia Жыл бұрын
They're from Connecticut they gained a lot of steam from their performance at 2019 Peach Festival, and then in pandemic they really kind of led the way with interactive streams and exponentially grew their fanbase. They're not slowing down, welcome to the party!

Goose is now punching through the universe for their sonic offering is above and beyond the acoustical spectrum of sound and light. The Frequencies and Overtones achieved and poetic lyrics is a message of humans achievement in communicating with the rest of the universe. Music is the Universal Language and Goose is writing its Guidelines. What we are experiencing is MUSICAL HISTORY to the level of BACH, BEETHOVEN, MOZART etc. History will tell. Your great great great grandchildren will say how cool my forefathers where there with the BUTTER and the RUM... CHEERS to ALL of YOU who enjoy GOOSE as much as I do.

Got to see Goose in SD and they were awesome - just so tight and technically proficient in their jams. But I have to say, I'm still kind of withholding my full embrace, becoming a fan the way I've enjoyed the Dead or Phish in the past. Both of those bands have clear identities to me... The Dead are rooted in the '60's subculture, speak to loving and losing crazy women, the highs and lows of working class life, exploring and expanding consciousness, etc. Phish, for me, have always been the social misfits who knew that was a good thing, geeky and joyous in their obscure lyrics, a carnival of playful weirdness and story telling. Fantastic as they are as musicians, Goose just seems more vaguely defined at the moment. I hear lots of armchair psychology platitudes... the big line in "Dripfield" (which was fricking killer in SD) is "I know life goes better with love" - Yep, love is awesome. "All You Need" is an homage to belief in self. "Animal" is about the simple joy of being alive - "get up and move your body". Clearly they're still writing their story, and the music is spectacular. But... I'd love to hear other people's take on what this band has to say, what makes them vital, and not "just" a beautiful refinement of the jam band genre. (Which is still pretty spectacular, in the end.)

Dead lyrics are anything but '60's 'love,' which, as proven by Woodstock and Altamont was fraud. "Jack kStraw from Wichita cut his buddy down..." always gets a roar. They cover, "Down by the river, I shot my haby...." N'er-do-wells, losers populate Hunter's songs... ...and anybody who's ever tried to work his way to the front of a show quickly learns about 'Territorial Imperative.' I was there, '60's 'love' counter-culture was fraud.
@ericolson3465 Жыл бұрын
@@docwill184 I'd agree with that. They do have their "China Cat Sunflowers" "Scarlet Begonias" and "Sugar Magnolias" and such, but the n'er-do-wells - Casey Jones, Friend of the Devil, Dire Wolf, etc. I put under the umbrella of the "lows of working class life." There's always a dark side to all that high-ness - always has been -and that's very much there in the Dead- in their name even. Which gets me no closer to the question of what kind of identity you find in Goose.
