Complete with full sound effects.. haha. I thought I was the only one who was a "verbal" rider - grunt's, hollers, etc. Good video B. I'm staying at Everstoke for a night next week. Can't wait to check it out.

Agree with you about Secret Trail. Best route for me is a lollipop figure eight: Windmill, Practice, South Rim, Hidden Canyon, North Rim, Yellow, Gooseberry Point, South Rim, Hidden Canyon (again), North Rim, Bowls and Ledges, Windmill.

+1 for the figure 8 but I start at south rim and do that first with fresh legs. Hidden Canyon is a gem worth doing twice in the middle. I actually got the idea of doing the figure 8 25 years ago from one of the Harris twins that built the trail. Great video, this is my all-time fav trail.
@Scott-mk7tz6 ай бұрын
I would usually go practice, bowls, north rim to the point, south rim, HC, bowls, practice, back to the trailhead. And really, HC is the jewel of the lot.

Gooseberry is great. As someone else said, add in Windmill. Hidden Canyon and Gander are fun too. You should do Secret Trail at least once (you won't find it unless you look for it). It is very fun, just very long and it will wear you out. Wire Mesa next door is great (and easier) but Gooseberry is the King. This type of riding will make you tired.

My friend Debbie and I may have been among the very first to ride Goosberry in 1986. No trails, just a serious bushwack to get to the rim. There were only about a half dozen mountain bikes in St. George back then.

Rode there once a few years back. Fun to try a few different lines. A lot of punchy stuff out there. I actually got lost on South, lost the white dots and luckily found some Red? but followed them and eventually got back to the parking lot. I missed some of the last few sections. It's amazing how on paper it looks easy....ha, until you ride it. Awesome job as usual....Cheers.

All the classics at Gooseberry are terrific. And I've done Secret a few times. If you do it, it's bit of a haul so bring the snacks and fluids because if you bonk halfway into it, you're on a slow death march until you merge back into the famous trails. It's biggest drawback is it's connected to one of the greatest trails of all time. But put this trail somewhere else, where it stands alone, and it's a great ride.

Gooseberry has the best ratings and makes all the "best in the world" lists. I think I've ridden all the other ones, but I can't remember, and when I can't remember a trail it's not a good endorsement.
