I personally enjoyed the first season more than I disliked it. I would give it about a six or seven out of ten, but if they had ended it after Biddle crossed over, then I would have bunped it up to an eight. That way, Slappy could have been preserved, and Horrorland wouldn't have been bastardized, thus saving it for a more faithful and interesting adaptation. This second season is objectively better in terms of writing, concepts, and characters, but I just prefer the dark magic/ghost story angle of the first season over the alien scifi. I enjoyed both equally tbh. My biggest takeaway from season two was the body horror and David Schwimmer (he really needs to do more horror). I have an idea for how I would do a third season if I were a showrunner, and I would want to focus on creatures and monsters (Fever Swamp, Wolfskin, Beast from the East etc). And bring back the original theme music, but maybe an orchestral or rock version so it gels with the tone of the show better. And they could take a cue from Horrorland and have the characters do individual stories before they actually encounter one another in the over arching plot. That way you get the feeling of an epsiodic anthology while preserving the seasonal anthology that they've chosen to go with. For context, I'm twenty, but I grew up with the 90s show as well as The Haunting Hour, and I collected all of the books, so I do have a lot of love for and familiarity with RL Stines works. Idk, just felt like sharing.

Haha, appreciate you sharing man and I love that idea. A season centered around all the beasts of the OG 62 would be pretty rad. Unfortunately for me, I just don't think this show is my cup of tea. I will watch a 3rd season if they do one out of principle, but this is not Goosebumps to me. It really felt like they added stuff in their for the sole purpose of namesake. Like I mentioned, for what reason was there any type of camp involved in this show? It was such a random minor subplot that was added strictly for episode title. Felt so fabricated to me and it pissed me off😂. Also, the plants had nothing to do with anything, I still don't know why Brewer had the tiny tentacles in his arm, that felt like a totally different monster than the alien presented to us from the ship. It all felt like a jumbled mess to me lol. But I'm glad you liked it more than season one, dude. For me, this season just had zero remnants of Goosebumps. At least season one had Slappy🤙🏻

I feel like they’re trying to appeal to the masses with this but they need to give the true fans what they want. If this wasn’t labeled as Goosebumps I feel like it wouldn’t be so bad. Good review. I’m only 2 episodes in and I already agree with you.
