Bear in mind he represented the same district as John B. Anderson, who was hardly a conservative. It's a basically moderate district in northeast Illinois. So while he calls himself a Reagan conservative, I for one see much to agree upon, this from a Seattle liberal Democrat. Moreover, I respect the man, bottom line. We can agree to disagree on policy, but on fundamentals I am with him. Democracy is in peril all over the Western world.
