This a review of the GoPlus 12.5' inflatable kayak. I hope this video helps a few people. While considering to buy this boat I had to just take the chance. From what I could find almost all other kayaks have been reviewed. I made this review because at the time no one else had. Many other GoPlus inflatables have been reviewed, however there had been nothing for this one. There is now at time of writing this one other review.

Yes, I couldn’t find any other review on Goplus kayaks. I’ve been comparing other tandem kayaks to make a purchase and I think I’ll go for this one but in red colour. You’ve made a great video and review of this tandem kayak. Goplus should send some cash your way for the endorsement 😊👏🏻👏🏻

I appreciate your kind words. If you buy this one I hope you like it. I look forward to putting on some lake where launching anything else would difficult. No one from Goplus has contacted me yet :(.

An update: I actually bought the red kayak and also made a video on my channel. I really like it and took it out on the water, in northern Ontario, 3 times already. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get an inflatable kayak. Keep your videos coming bud, really enjoy them. 👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks for the review. I was just looking at this exact kayak for me and my son for the coming up weekend fishing trip

Your welcome, I'm pleased that this was helpful. One thing I'm still confused about is that there is a GoPlus brand and a Gymax brand. They look the same, price is the same, is it just a different name? Maybe someone else can comment.

Use the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner to fully deflate the components after use. Just make certain the chamber valves are set open. BY doing this, I can fit everything, - oars, seats, pump, plus extras along with the kayak in the bag.

I can see this working, it sounds like a good idea. The one thing that would be nice with this Goplus package would be a slightly better pump. I have a pump from a saturn boat that can inflate and deflate. A Vacuum would be much faster.

Thanks for the review.. I just had my sea eagle 385 fast track pop a seam... I loved it but for the price I expected better... I'm thinking of buying a couple of these low priced inflatables since they still have a dropstitch floor. My wife hates her hard shell. So this seams like a heckuva deal.. I know it likely won't be as fast as the sea eagle fast track, but amazons cheap insurance makes this a smoking deal!

It seems like you have the right mindset. One thing I've found so far about inflatables is that they won't last forever. Back in 2008 I bought a 8' tender for fishing. After 15 years the glue joints on various seams deteriorated completely. I'll do another video later in the summer as an update to show some modifications and if the boat is still holding up. As for hard shells I'd say the serve a completely different purpose. They're rugged and can stand up to the abuse that Kayaking really is. However something like Goplus is amazingly stable and buoyant, but much less rugged, and maneuverable than a hardshell. You'll have to work hard to flip this kayak. I'm a fisherman at heart, not a white water guy. Sacrificing speed and maneuvering isn't an issue.

Thanks for the review. I’m trying to decide on an inflatable kayak and this really helps. Can the seat be moved forward a bit if I want to be a bit more towards the. Enter of the boat (when kayaking solo.)
@SteveStuff
@SteveStuff 18 күн бұрын
The seats can move although only approx 12" forward or backward. Sitting directly in the middle isn't really possible. Having said that, I didn't find paddling solo to be a problem. I guess on a really windy day I'd rather sit in the front than the back.

@@SteveStuffthanks. I just wanted it a bit further forward, I don’t care if it’s right in the middle. You looked quite comfortable in the back.

First off, thanks for making this. Only videos Ive found reviewing this kayak. Much appreciated. Secondly, for single person use, is there a way to only use 1 seat but have it secured more centered? Like between the rear and front seat locations you have shown.
@SteveStuff
@SteveStuff 2 ай бұрын
I'm glad you found this useful. I found that it was perfectly usable as a single person kayak. Both seats can adjusted forward and backward about 12" / 30cm. They can also be removed. One of the limitations on moving the seats is the length of your legs and if you plan to use the foot rests. I used it on vacation almost exclusively as a single person kayak. One thing I'm going to experiment with is using plywood to use a pedestal and boat seat. This would allow pivoting and being more centered in the boat. Some time in the summer I'll likely post a short video wit the results.

Does it have drop stitch flooring? What pressure can you inflate the floor to?
@SteveStuff
@SteveStuff 3 ай бұрын
In order to answer this I need to make an edcuated guess. Nothing I've read about the floor says definitely that it has a drop stich floor. HOWEVER, I've owned 2 other inflateable boats that both have drop stich flooring. From my experience I'd say yes it has a drop stich floor. I inflate the side wall chambers to about 2psi. Inflating the floor I stop before the pump gets to 5psi and it's very rigid. My recommendation would be to avoid any boat that didn't have drop stich flooring. With inflatable boats I release some air pressure when I'm done using them for the day and reinflate when I use them later. Doing this puts less stress on the seams and joints when sun heats the air expanding it in the chambers.
@nunya913
@nunya913 3 ай бұрын
@@SteveStuff Thanks for the reply! I think if it can hold 5psi then it probably is drop stitch. Is the floor an insert and if so, does the bottom of the boat still have to be inflated?
@SteveStuff
@SteveStuff 3 ай бұрын
@@nunya913 The floor is an insert, and no the bottom doesn't get inflated. The bottom is the same material as the side tube.

Good day, How does the kayak track (i.e., keep its direction in a straight line without too much zig zag when paddling)? Thanks
@SteveStuff
@SteveStuff 2 ай бұрын
I wouldn't expect a great tracking Kayak. It wasn't bad, but nor is is anything like a hard kayak with a keele. I actually used it (accidentally) without the keele one time. I scraped them off at shore and found them later. Without them was worse but still not terrible. I think the answer to your question depends on how serious you are about wanting a true kayak experience.
