Its seriously insane how fast all these guys are. They ride on the absolute ragged edge of disaster but manage to keep the bike on two wheels. Its truly an art to see how fast and agile they get through the corners and deep rutted rough shit. This riding is on a completely different level than even all the crazy fast A and B riders. And I got a ton of respect for guys who are good enough to race A and B class at there local tracks. I'm 34 and guys at work give me shit all the time because I ride motocross. They all think that its easy cause you have a motor. I got more respect for anybody willing to swing a leg over a bike and go out on a track with 20 other guys all trying to go fast and hit jumps and shit. It takes a good size pair of balls to line up on a gate and go rip. I think there's also a common comrodery among riders to treat eachother with respect. Growing up I did not ride or race. My folks wouldn't allow me to have a dirtbike so I played more traditional sports like hockey , baseball , lacrosse , golf. In all those sports people treated one another like total shit. Travel hockey moms and dads are fucking insane and think all there kids are gonna play in the NHL someday. Parents in the other sports were equally as mean and bat shit crazy. All the people I've met in motocross have been nice , willing to lend a hand or parts so you can make it to the gate. I absolutely love motocross. I manage to stay young as long as I keep riding. The day I get too old would be because I stopped riding ! Its a way of life that those of us who aren't afraid to live. Nothing else compares to clearing a 70 foot super double. People that don't ride will never understand that feeling of sailing through the air. All your worries about life go away as soon as you throw your leg over the bike. Its just you and your dirtbike out to have the time of your life. Peace and respect to all who ride, you guys are the ones that keep this industry going strong

damn right. All my friends don't understand how much HARDER it is because it has a motor. You have to hold on and be able to control the engine. I don't understand why no one has respect for people who ride motocross, and it makes me want to throw them on a bike and see what they have to say after, its a very very tough sport.

Yes sir righteous I agree with you and may I point out the older you get the more you see just how bloody fast these dudes are.I will say without a doubt after playing the usual sports that pro mx riders are the most talented and skilled athletes in the world fuckin flat out, that's a pretty bold statement but if anyone wants to argue step up. Bold because I am comparing them not to any athlete but THE BEST of the best M. Jordan was good he was super but he does not risk death or paralysis when he does his thing ,at least not on a daily basis. Talk baseball, football even auto racing is safer, but the Mxer as the band AC/DC says " Has the biggest balls of all " At 59 yrs old mx has been my passion since 1970 when I went to the first ever stadium event SuperBowl mx 1, and believe after attending Saddleback, Carlsbad, Indian Dunes , LACR it was quite a trip walking into the coliseum and seing plastic sheet and dirt all over the football field and seats where people normally sit. BUT THE BIGGEST thrill was seeing the most famous European riders who normally only come for the GP portion of the world circuit here in the U.S......Decoster, Weil, Falta, Wolsink, Mikkola then Lackey, Karsmakers, Semics, Howerton some fast americans. Marty Smith and Bob Hannah hadn't even came up yet. Don't quote me beings it was 49 yrs ago but I believe most everyone I said was there. I had a ole ragedy Bultaco that I worked on a hour and a half for every 15 minutes it ran. I CAME ONTO THE mx SCENE at a very epic and profound time...….people nowadays walk into any Hon Yam Kaw etc dealer and see nice Japanese mxers ready to buy and ride, but those did not exist at least not in a production form available to the public until Honda unveiled their first actually it was THE FIRST production 2 stroke mxer . It was the day after thanksgiving 1974. The Cr125 especially changed the MX world 4 EVER....ALL THE OTHER manufacterers could not even come close to competing with this 187lb dry wonder then FMF DG and all the rest of the go fast shops offered heads pipes porting reeds etc and they were untouchable. Before then if you wanted a plastic fender that aint gonna match anyway on your bike you go down and buy yourself a preston petty mudder, ever heard of one of those ? I wanted to get in on that scene but my parents would not back me, so years later when another blackman like myself, Stewart started dominating supercross and outdoor events I was quick to throw it in my parents face that the man is clearing close to a mil a year with endorsements. Not that I could ever be that good. An incident happened at Carlsbad one year I wont go into fully but one rider the only pro rider I know to tarnish the reputation of the sport behind the color of a mans skin David Bailey, AND NOT ONLY WAS HE FAST HE WAS PROBABLY THE SMOOTHEST RIDER EVER TO SWING A LEG OVER A BIKE. i'LL SAY THAT INSPITE OF WHAT HE DID TO ME. I have never been more embarrassed and humiliated in my life. Go to his video on paralysis if you want to know what happened read in the comments and find me. I didn't have good things to say. Hit me back on this thread if you care to know. Anyway the order of the legendery bikes as you know them was CR THEN the TM became the RM THEN THE Yz's and the Kx's were last but not least Jeff ward Brad Lackey made people want that brand. Let me add that Maico tried to hang on and Husqvarna did hang on and well if you look at the new Husky fuckin what can I say there beautiful clean personally very comfortable their fuckin baddd like the Ktm's. Any way my friend I could go on and take the timeline right up to you …..cause I LOVE FUCKIN MOTOCROSS till the day I die. And pro motocrossers are gods riding bikes here on earth they are some bad motherfuckers....WORD
