Hmm, I'm looking at my own footage from basically the same setup you have, but it's a gopro hero 11 black. Scrubbing through I can see frame by frame 50 frames per secon, as I have it set-up so myself. Will confirm if it's the same with the hero 12 as soon as I get it. EDIT: Ok here's the promissed edit... gopro 12 with hero mod on my end outouts through HDMI 50 frames per second regardless of what settings I have set in the profile, even if it's set to 24fps... Pressing the record button makes the live preview really stuttery, but the recordings come out fine.

@@sprEEEzy by the way, I tested a setup basically along the lines of what you’ve shown. I have a GoPro hero 10 with the media mod. I can verify - without trickery and on latest FW - it outputs 60fps (and changes for PAL) if set as such in the camera config. In case anyone else is wondering. Take care.

For Hero 10 based on gopro documentation its opposite in record mode it outputs 720x480 @30fps Video only and in Idle outputs 1920x1080 @60 audio and video.

Hey boss i discovered tonight how to get 1080 60 with out using the sd card i came across youre video and i was shocked i was like that not work for me for that i stay with the sony x3000 so i what i did ,i did not put the sd card and boom!! problem fix i hope this will help anyone out there just dont put the sd card and that it all.👌🏼

I will try the remove the SD Card but the trick is record and turn on the HyperSmooth so the Go Pro will record and show, but the bad side is the delay to generate image is too much random, I configured the sound delay in obs 1100ms but some times work and sometimes not. By the way if the sdcard is close to full the sound differecence increase

Are you aware of any way to get 240 frames per second out of the camera and into a PC? I know the camera can be used as the WebCam, but when I’ve tried it’s locked at 30 frames per second. (I’m trying to record Golf swings, with the GoPro as the camera, but recording and processing done in real time on the PC. I do have some industrial cameras which operate at higher frame rates, and the GoPro is about the same price, so I know for sure that sensors in camera hardware can definitely be fast enough to transmit 500 frames per second or more over USB3. The GoPro is multipurpose and I’m more convenient form factor, for anyone who is asking why don’t I just stick with the industrial cameras.)

Pretty sure you can't go past 60 on HDMI. GoPro has hard limits on this stuff.

Really trying to get 4k 60fps. I've read media mod only goes up to 1080 60fps on Hero 10. USB-C in webcam mode can get to 4k 60fps, I think, but only 1080 option on M1 Mac. Any thoughts on how I can get 4k 60fps streaming out in any way?

USB C 3.x is up to 10Gbps where at 4K 60 needs 12Gbps. Even if you send NV12 4:0:0 8bit the GoPro could not be able to send out 4k60 over the usb cable. The HDMI cab;r has more bandwidth (depending on what version their using) but since GoPro highly compressed the feed to the hdmi out i'm pretty sure we'll never get a good feed from Gopro. will it be fine for IRL or youtube sure but not for actual recording. I wish they would though. but since they have to post process everything to make it look good i highly doubt it.

@@GoldenTeeTV Great reply thank you. After researching, it looks like 4k 60fps won't be streamable directly over USB-C until USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 becomes ubiquitous and there are action cameras that support it. Sounds like its at least 2 years out at a minimum.

I've maganed to get 60 fps on the hero 9 by activating hindsight. It's as if it triggered the "recording mode" and doesn't take up space in the sd card. Haven't tried for long durations tho but I would guess its the same.

The best way because not use the sdcard(I have no idea when the video preview records, maybe internal memory), but you need to keep hypersmooth on no matter wich options(on, hyper) or so the record will not process at 60fps I tried with off but keeps with liveview fps

what about cable ? USB-C to HDMI is def. downgrade quality. Try USB-C to USB-C/Displayport. Im not shure but its worth to try.

What do you mean? I'm doing microHDMI to HDMI. There's no way of getting a clean feed thru USB-C on a GoPro, except the "Webcam mode".
