GoPro Hero 10 vs Insta360 ONE X2

Both I great cameras. I have the Insta360 and love it’s versatility compared to my DJI Action but…. the audio quality and wind reduction could be much better, it really needs consumer replaceable lenses and it disconnects from the phone app during editing far too many times. You have to live with the lower resolution because hey, it’s a 360 camera and it gives you shots you couldn’t get with a normal action cam.

8:00 Bummer. I already got mine last year. BEST. CAMERA. EVER. I was hesitant after the Xiaomi Mi Sphere (Madv 360 on the states now) utterly failed with drifting, and a battery that NEVER LASTED IN THE COLD. Or hot. Along came the X2 and with a MIND BLOWING -4 TO 104F operating temperature. I got the full 80 minutes advertised EVERY TIME. On single digit days. ZERO recording failures. And this year, the thing I could NEVER do before... A BACKUP BATTERY. Yes when my 80 minutes were done...I had 80 more in my pocket!!! And...IT WORKED. I shot at max resolution on a huge SD card that allowed about 4 hours of content so...3.5 batteries worth! Did I mention this is my favorite camera yet?

Great video. I usually use both at the same time for when I’m kayaking. I use the GoPro for the main camera and use the Insta360 for my B-roll as it captures everything like you mentioned. They both have their benefits for sure

Very good and I am happy with the Insta 360 camera! However what is still behind is the Insta360 studio software for PC. No options to include stats and gps data, no options to create the labshots in the PC version (like is possible in the app).

Insta360One X2 reframe can be pushed up to 4k with higher bitrate. PS, NEVER rest the 360 camera on it's lens!!!

I just wish the insta 360 one x 2 would work with the dpi wireless mic or the Instamic pro plus and HOLD the pairings so when turned off you don't have to re pair each time! Gloved hand on motorcycle and the start stop make it useless for Audi speech from rider...

Can you please tell me how you did the shot at 6:33? It looks like a bullet time video, but at the same time it doesn’t. It transitions from one location to another in one rotation. I would be forever grateful if you could explain how you did this, or point me to a video explaining how. I really want to make a video like that of the scene changing around my family throughout the year.

Its just a normal shot all of those effects are base how you mix the effects or style when you edit the video.

I've been using my insta360 one x2 and I love it. tips for newbies .. instal a lens guard to you lens. it really helps and buy also lens cap. use type C cable to connect on you phone for editing and post production. connection is better using type C cable.

For drone shots the x2 is a bit heavy, but the gopro10 as well. When filming with 360 I often wish I could zoom in more, but as you said, the reframing gives you endless possibilities! There should be some more focus on the much higher image quality of the hero 10 imho... Greets fellow Austrian gimbal guru!

Insta360 is great in 360 but it is not a action camera. It is way more fragile then you think. I thought can capture a cool video via insta360 when skate/snowboarding/diving/surfing. But I broke it after 3rd use and no warranty can claim. Bullet time of instal360 has so many failures where the camera fly away from the mount.

You may need to calibrate the gyros in the camera, there are vids showing you how to do this and it looks easy.

The truth, If you reframe insta's video to the linear you don't get 1080p, you can get something near 720p. I tested this myself many times. And this means that the quality is total crap. Insta360 is only good for 360 videos and nothing else.
