Can you connect a mini lavalier microphone to GoPro 12 by using just the new Bluetooth connection without using the media mod? If yes what should I look for in the microphone before I buy it so I make sure it will work with GoPro 12 . Thank you

1. There is no microphone port in this device. If you want to connect any microphone which has jack (3.5mm), you still need media mod. 2. It supports only Bluetooth microphone. That means all Bluetooth headphones you purchase for your phone, will work with this device. So any Bluetooth headphone which can be used to make a phone call, you can buy those to use with this device. And when you are using Bluetooth microphone, it will record audio in two channels, one from Bluetooth microphone and from its internal microphone. Hope, i was able to explain it. @@RoysWork thank you. All the mini mics that I find on Amazon have a receiver that has to be plugged. Do you know of any portable ones that does not need a receiver?

For the plugged ones (receiver) you need media mod. I am using my existing Bluetooth headphones (i used to use it with phone) and it works fine. I don’t know anything without receiver. Since gopro just started this feature, may be something will come in near future.

what if we connect RODE Go (Dji mic) wireless mic receiver output to a Bluetooth transmitter and connect the transmitter to Gopro12 via Bluetooth ? will we have a dual wireless mic setup ?

Very good point. I tried this with an Bluetooth transmitter. It doesn’t connect, because it works as a transmitter, like phone, you cannot connect a transmitter with phone, You can try with RODE transmitter and let us know. Thanks for watching my video, please Like Share & Subscribe.

​@@RoysWork but there are videos that people connect a generic Amazon wireless to Gopro12. these generic mic has a input jack. I think it is possible to connect this mic jack to wirelessGo

Yeah, in that case u need media mod ($79) or gopro mic adapter ($47). There is no other 3rd party accessory for this. At least I didn’t find it. I am also looking for this solution, and don’t wanna use $50 for adapter. Please let me know if you find any solution.
