I wonder if GoPro is the one who leaked the 1” sensor pictures. If so, I think they shot themselves in the foot. There’s really little reason to upgrade from the 11 to the 12. I am curious as to why DJI released the Action 4 a month early maybe they will release the Pocket 3 around the time that the GoPro 12 is released.

Check if you're in max lens mod mode (original tops out at 2.7k)

right.. their subscription is the biggest joke - it used to be a set 50% off accessories with free shipping... now most are 20-30% off and you need to spend $150 for free shipping. If you just need a new battery door, its $15 shipping. Also, Ive owned every gopro from the hero 2 through the hero 11 and since the hero7 Ive had an ongoing issue of the cameras freezing while charging.. you unplug it, take it to a spot to use it then find out its burning hot and wont power on.. you pull the battery and it turns back on but the battery is 10%. Happens to my hero 11 all the time and i even have gopro emails from the hero 8 of me complaining about this... fix your shizzzz gopro!

The original max lens mod was designed with the old 4:3 sensor on mind. This new one will be designed to make use of the larger 8:7 sensor.

Every year they bring out a camera and are now mainly just software updates that could be applied to their previous cameras. Its so disappointing and such a scam. Used to love gopro and want to upgrade but its never worth the higher price tag each year.

Actually GoPro making a completely different camera is what I want. Something that is a cross between a an action camera, a mirrorless or a point and shoot “vlogging” camera, and a handycam type camcorder.

@@Rush-Media I think more people are using GoPro as POV/compact specialty camera sticking it in cars and stuff, and vlogging camera, than they are strapping them to their skateboard or dirt bike. I think they would benefit from making a second camera dedicated for long takes in hot cars arable of variable focus and a slightly less wide lens than just the same wide lens mushy action camera over and over again.

@@billmakesmovies I'm afraid far, far more people use their GoPros for action sports etc than vloggers. GoPro knows its core market, and makes cameras for the most dominant types of users. Making a camera with autofocus etc is a big undertaking, and would take a huge amount of resources away from developing its core camera. GoPro is not a big company by technology standards, so it needs to focus its available resources where they are best placed to offer maximum return.

I can't see myself buying another gopro ever again after getting the gopro 10. If anything, I'll probably stick with my gopro 11, insta360 x2 and possibly upgrade to a X4 when it comes out.

I would say so yes. As long as gopro don't reserve it only for the 12, I'd give it 95% chance of being fully compatible.

@@TheRobbery710 because I don’t need to record twice the amount of frames. Smoother isn’t always better. My comment was really speaking on GoPro releasing cameras that can’t record all of the frame rates, and without heating up like crazy.

@@JudoSurfer no I don’t. I want compact camera that is more than an action camera, but not quite a camcorder. It could be twice the size as the current GoPros and not waterproof. Matter of fact, a fan system to keep it from overheating would be ideal. Need to be able to plug in to a USBC power pack for long run times too.

Yeah Gopros stubbornness is going to be their downfall. They've had years to improve sensor size now and are refusing to do it for zero reason. A shame, because I love their labs software, but it's not surprising. Gopro has been this way forever.

The labs feature is amazing, plus the integrated GPS is what sold me on the GP11 over the OA4. Very stable, and great for photos too.

DJI Action 4 is the action camera for me! 5 minute max limit in most cases is not an issue for action video.
