Here are 3 different gopro helmet mounts used for motocross. I specifically show you how I mount my camera under my visor and show you some examples of all three mounts. A lot of people asked for some tips so here they are. If you have any questions please let me know.

Love the POV with the under the peak mount. Been using it awhile myself. If you have a flat spot you can save space by running a frame case. Nice views and sick helmet man!

I have a couple tips... On top, place the sticky mount as close to the visor as you can, and rotate it 90 degrees from where you currently have it (similar to your under visor mount), then use the short adapter on top of the clip mount to turn the camera back to facing forward. The camera will be about 2" off your helmet rather than 6" which is much better while on the trails (I lost a gopro in January because of this...) and for under the visor, your mount is on the wrong side, notice how the lens is far off to the right. Mount it on the other side and it will be very close to the middle (I do this on the top mount as well, by mounting it slightly to the left of the middle, fits better there too) also if you use the curved piece and possibly an extension, you can get the gopro to sit directly in front of your visor, so it's not in the way of your vision ever. All the being said, the side mount is the way to go in my opinion. As long as your helmet has a proper tight fit, you never feel it being there.

Hey man great tips! But I have to say, the side mount isn't on the "wrong" side. There is no right or wrong side, it's all about what each individual likes best. I actually like the lens being farther away, that way you see more of the bike and rider.

I agree with you there, I was meaning the 'under the visor' mount was on the wrong side of the visor. If it was mounted on the left side rather than right, then the lens will be more in the middle of the helmet than far off to the right

Derek Hallman also consider using tethers for the top mount- i use stainless steel cable and ive never lost a gopro despite having a few mounts fail in heavy use

Derek Wouldn't mounting the visor mount on the other visor slant be more better because then the actual camera lens would be in the middle

Brock Duggan I had the same thought. The lense of the gopro is on the left when upside down so he should have favoured a mount on the right side.

If your in the woods racing i would advise not using the top helmet mount. I have lost one from getting it smacked by a tree. Also It can get bumped back causing the camera to point either at the ground or sky.

Very nicely done video! For the last year I used to have my GoPro mounted on the side of my helmet (Cyber UX-33) because that helmet had a very aggressive design and not much flat surfaces. Yesterday I got my new helmet (Fox Race V1) and it's nicely smooth all across the helmet and you can mount your GoPro pretty much anywhere you want... I have it under the visor now and I can honestly recommend this solution as the best one! The view is the most realistic and just looks the best in my opinion, you have even balance on the helmet and I feel safe about my GoPro, because when I had it on side, you have the same problem you mentioned about mounting on top of your helmet - the GoPro sticks out and every time you have to ride through trees branches keep slamming into it and that made me uncomfortable (even though I know GoPro can handle a lot). Switching your GoPro to upside down recording is no problem and my FoV is not obstructed at all (at least on my helmet)... I have it mounted a bit differently compared to you, I have a nice flat surface in the middle so I can mount it straight where I am looking without using any more parts. I was a little bit concerned about visor keeping with the weight of GoPro during jumps or shakes, but it handles it with no problem so far... Mounting your GoPro under your visor is the best way to go!

Honestly I love the last mount setup, sure you have to change the setting but you also can see that your GoPro is still there and maybe even still recording, so just my opinion, if you disagree that's your personal preferance

For the Under the Visor mount you could use a M5 20mm Screw, so you dont have this "short" GoPro Handtightening Screw sticking out. That would look a lot cleaner.

no problem! i want to put a mount on my mx helmet for mx and mountain biking and i was thinking about putting it on top but below the visor seems really good! i also love editing footage like these and montages etc. i don't mind switching the view if its upside down. If you moved the visor mount to the other side, the footage would be more centered, as the lens is offset.

Hmm, honestly, after riding around for about 5 minutes, you will totally forget that it's there. I have had zero issues with my GoPro Hero 3+ Black so I definitely recommend it in comparison to other action cameras. As for mount kits, if you buy this shop.gopro.com/mounts/side-mount/AHEDM-001.html#/start=1 and this shop.gopro.com/mounts/curved-plus-flat-adhesive-mounts/AACFT-001.html you will have everything I used in the video.

Contour roam 3 is better for mounting on your helmet, with its rotating lens, it's probably the 2nd bets sports camera

farine98. I cannot figure out a way to do it on my specific helmet. Generally you have to cut a big hole in the chin piece and glue in a GoPro mount.

I just got a go pro hero 4 silver today. The mount I chose for my helmet was the side mount. But I haven't gotten to ride yet and I'm worried I don't have a good angle on it. Also I used my other mount on my back fender, so when I'm riding with my friend you can see him. Good choices??
