Interesting to see that the Java Finches are aggressive enough to push away the House Sparrows, which are notorious for being aggressive.

What type of bird does that sound belong to at 9:10, in the background? It’s like 6-7 shorts calls and then a long one (not a Zebra Dove, as much as I love them too.) I am enchanted by it whenever I visit the Big Island and hear it ❤️

It's a Common Myna.

I love our parrots on Coronado but they sound like Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" . These little fellows are a little easier on the ears.

It totally reminds me of Hawaii too haha. I lived in Kona for a couple months and I’d wake up to those two doves every morning. Great times.

Which island is this? And have confirmed the background bird calls are doves? That was my favorite sound waking up on Hawaii never heard before living in New England
@unusualcat5357 ай бұрын
Has to be either maui or island of Hawaii because those were the only ones the lovebirds were introduced
@philipveerman75263 жыл бұрын
Only just found this site. My reaction: Lovebirds presumably from Africa and Java Sparrows presumably from Java and House Sparrows presumably from Europe. Yet this is Hawaii........

Sadly most of native birds extinct because of introduction of foreign mammals and insects
@sylvainmathieu388711 ай бұрын
That was exactly my thought... kind of depressing to realize how humans can destroy a whole ecosystem by importing birds (and mammals) from everywhere else.
