They probably pushed it to September so they wouldn’t compete with Joker 2 which will likely be a billion dollar hit. They want to make sure they can get the box office for the release.

It looks like Beatlejuice is now an afterlife councilor (probably as punishment for getting eaten by a sandworm) and still intends on marrying Lydia to get out of everything - since she is shown in the original red dress, we see the cake and he has her picture on his desk. I'm still not 100% sure how Defoe fits in though....

Joker is set to release on october 4th so maybe that's one of the reasons for release beetlejuice a month earlier.

I think they released in September cause they know theaters will want to keep it around for October, so maybe they can extend its theatrical run 2 months or more.

@GorTheMovieGod I have honestly never seen this movie, I’m actually about to though as I am interested in the sequel and I love Michael Keaton so, I figure to myself, “what the hell am I doing with my life” I know that Beetle Juice other than Batman was Michael Keaton’s most iconic role from that era, and funny enough both movies were directed by Tim Burton funny enough.

Calm down Gor... Some of the best movies/horror movies come out in September.. Hell.. just off the top of my head... IT Chapter 1 and 2 both came out in September.. and it didn't ruin a damn thing! lol
