Fabulous, finally a glimpse of a Parilla Grand Sport at 2:46, well known in the U.S. but seems to get overlooked compared to other brands. It was a contemporary of the Aermacchi and Ducati singles of the late '50s into the '60s and I was fortunate to have raced a 200cc Wildcat version for several seasons with good success. When the lightweight sales boom bottomed out, the brand was lost as were many other German makes like Adler, Zundapp, NSU, the Italian Motobi, to name a few.

Salut Monsieur Agostini je vous ai vu pour la première fois en 1973 au grand prix de France au circuit Paul Ricard ou pour la première fois dans votre grande carrière de légende avec MV Agusta vous couriez de plus en plus vite après ce nouveau jeune Jarno Saarrinen sur Yamaha TZ 2 temps qui c'est envolee comme une fusée. Dans la courbe de signe et dans le double droit du Beausset vos retrogradages de plus en plus retarder et violent pour courir après ce lièvre qui s'echappait reste pour moi un moment magique et inoubliable de cette belle MV Agusta qui hurlait de colère tellement elle était énervée. Vous avez fait deuxième ( chute ) mais en 2022 vous êtes toujours 2 eme puisque vous faite encore de la moto . Malheureusement Jarno est resté premier puisqu'il y a très longtemps qu'il est parti. Ainsi atteind d'un cancer sur son lit d'hôpital Jacque Anquetil faisait de l'humour avec Raymond Poulidor qui vécu tres vieux. Salut le roi AGO au moto club on me surnomme PASO puisque je conduisait déjà en déhancher genou sorti déjà en 1973?? (En souvenir à Pasolini Saarrinen Monzat)

Lets no forget the Morini singl ridden by Provini nicknamed elbow by his British fans, that gave Jim Redman's Honda four a severe run for its money in the 250cc class. my first bike was a Triumph 200 Tiger Cub follwed by a Gilera 175cc supercompressa, followed by Ducati 250 Daytona, and finally a Ducati 250 mach1. but my all time favourite has to be the Vincent, Black Shadow.

I seen Agostini race that bike in 1974 against Sheen Roberts-Snr Williams @ mallory park, I paid the extra 50p for pits entry and stood a few feet from it when it was be heated up for racing, the sound and vibration in your body can't be explained, the noise resonates through you, your stomach contents dance and your blood bubbles and skin twitches, it's like being blasted with a ray-gun. . . I did think at the time what would riding it make you feel like, I imagined being totally numb from the neck down,

pour faire suite aux observations de pascal wanègue, en 1974 j'étais aussi ado, et à charade, au milieu des 2 temps j'entendais la descendre des rapports des mv d'Ago et de Bonera et peut être de phil Reed qui a couru sur MV également. J'étais un poil plus jeune qu'en j'ai entendu le bruit de la honda 6 de Mike the bike. Ah ces mégaphones quel pied !!!

Some of those old brakes were actually quite efficient ... they shouldn't be compared at all to the usual concept of brakes on "civilian" motorcycles from the 60s and 70s ... but of course they are not at the level of modern "premium" motorcycles .
