My favorite musical piece ever. Took me a while to transcribe that KILLER bass line and also to play it in one take (+ overdubs in the middle section). Just added some compression afterwards.

I was engaged to a girl when this album first came out, I used to listen to this CD constantly. It was literally the soundtrack to my life at the time. She is no longer on this earth. I haven’t listened to this song in about 24 years. The emotions I felt hearing this just now hit hard. I forgot how much I loved this album (and song) and it was a time capsule to a special moment in my life. It’s amazing how deeply music can affect you. Thank you for sharing this, you played it beautifully.

Beside the emotional intensity of this solo i still can't figure out how this guitar solo can be so sneaky, fast and remain so clean. This solo and the solo from muttersprache on the album emergent still give me shiver And i just found out by reading your comments that its Ron jarzombek playing it.I'm speechless to find about that information right now.

My favorite composition out of Gordian Knot's debut album. This must be the only cover version I've seen someone perform and it's immaculate. Incredible job, mate! Sean Malone has influenced my understanding of bass in music, and i am still very sad he's gone, like Reinert. This song is just a wonderful testament to their playing and chemistry, but maybe even topped by the (IMO) best Jarzombek solo ever. That short bass solo also is a work of wonder. Great job! Hope i will be able to play this song one day.

What I find complicated about playing a fretless bass (or guitar for that matter) is that you have to know exactly where each note is settled and it has to be exact. It takes a skilled ear to do that, maybe after years and years of playing you just sorta' get it. But then what do you do with those fragmented macro notes, you know, the notes in between the notes. So peculiar and interesting! This guy is doing some controlled chaos bass solo over a guitar solo, I mean... How?!

@@XiyuYang well, I would not recommend it. I love the bass but I had some issues with it. Also I didn’t get the electronic I ordered, the ramp started warping and not having a zero fret is a flaw too.
