Goodwin is a musical heir of Nestico; mastered the whole arranging vocabulary and extended it. Have played some of his things in amateur bands and it is consistently the hardest literature in the book. Good stuff.

Loved playing his charts in high school. The most challenging music that I have ever played in my life. I was a bass trombonist for three years before I had to retire from band due to medical reasons.
