What an incredibly beautiful story and song. The distinct parts to the song bring a different emotion to that part of the story. Amazing.

Great song and an amazing, heartfelt performance! Gordon Lightfoot is the best song story teller. He is also an effective ambassador for his country that he loves so much, Canada.

Every time I listen to this song, I burst into tears. I don't know why, since I'm not from Canada, nor have I ever lived there. Awesome song!

For me, it was *"We are the navvies who worked upon the railway. Swingin' our hammers in the bright blazin' sun. Layin' down track and building the bridges, bendin' our backs til the railroad is done."* A masterpiece if there ever was one. Awesome storytelling!
