Gordon Ramsay is one of the world's most celebrated chefs, with two distinct sides to his cooking. In his restaurants he's known for serving stunningly intricate dishes, while at home his food is just as delicious but simpler, faster and easier to make. Now in this practical home cookery series he teaches viewers how to cook amazing food every day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I think when Ramsay says "... and just a table spoon of olive oil" he literally envisions a spoon the size of a table.

That was close to my estimation... But I think he said 'teaspoon' and that is even more strange.

Well, the other side is just a character, for good TV. We have a similar guy in Sweden called "The angry carpenter" and in another show he was in, he was completley normal. Also we have copies of Gordon in sweden, our TV show is called "the knife against the throat" a complete rippoff of kitchen nightmares. It sells with angry guys screaming in TV.

9.40 ... for those folk at home... He meant to say "hold the fish half or so in so the hot batter will keep the fish from dropping to the bottom of the pan." He might also have picked up the bowl with his dry hand to keep from dribbling batter everywhere.

I get the porridge, but I think I'd like it thicker top-to-bottom. Coming shallow in the pan. Not to try to think too much because I'm no scott, but an egg in there with half a tsp of baking soda...wouldn't it come out half-fluff rather than paste? Ever since living in Romania and learning about mici, I do like a pinch of baking soda in things to fluff them up.

he uses at least one vanilla bean each episode. HOW THE HELL DOES HE EXPECT NORMAL PEOPLE TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD VANILLA BEANS AT THAT QUANTITY??? (why can't he use homemade vanilla extract or some super fancy vanilla extract so we know how to incorporate it? D;)

The title says GORDON'S HOME COOKING, and normal people don't cook like that at home, at least not me. Home cooking for me is shitty pasta or microwave oven pizza, and for dessert... mcdonalds apple pie.

I have seen you with chefs from other countries Guess then you have met him?? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanjeev_Kapoor I have never seen his shows except in advertisements... Friend gave me a book of his and i have not tried even one... You have some of his recipes online... guess u know as well.. Guess your tour in India would have fetched you rare recipes... good luck either way - learn from other chefs or find the origin of recipes (travel tours) or get creative...

It's the best time to learn how to cook. I taught my son to cook, starting when he was about ten or eleven. One night, he called me from university residence to thank me because his fellows thought he was amazing. They called him "Chef". Of course, if you mean little kids, well there is a way to include them, too. But they do require close supervision. Cheers!
