Always loved how Tariya is constantly being yelled at by her sister for crying but when her sister collapses in tears, Tariya is right beside her comforting her. It always astounds me when someone gets picked on for crying, as if that isn't a valid form of stress relief. There's already enough yelling going on between the dad and the sister, and being the server, she's the front-line fielding complaints and any of the less-than-polite customers, but they consider her weak for crying instead of just adding her voice to the cacophony already going on between the two in the kitchen. Good gods, I'm really surprised she didn't just leave town and her family before all this came to a head on the show, the abuse here is just sickening.

Also, it's very sad that this family called for Gordon's help and yet they get insulted when Gordon called them out! I feel bad for both daughters. Elise was raised to be aggressive like that. She was raised to deal with problems by yelling at them. Her sister cried, she yells at her. A customer said a dish had too much garlic, her response was to yell "then get the fuck out of a Greek restaurant," which, to be fair, she wasn't wrong there. Also, she is probably stressed by her dad, who didn't teach her the correct way to deal with stress.

It has been widely reported that most of the conversions you see are scripted. The staff are real, but the producers go over the planned conversation before it is filmed. The first night is setup to fail on purpose. The production will send in 3 times more customers then normal to purposely make the kitchen fail, and tell the customers to specifically order the difficult menu items. So while somewhat fake... it is still entertaining

As a person who also struggled with emotion regulation, hearing everyone invalidating the sister hit too close to home. She can be sad and cry. It’s not just their attitudes, the inability to take responsibility for the problems in the kitchen annoyed me as well. It doesn’t matter if you created the mess, or used the rotten food or not, if you can’t follow basic food hygiene and safety guidelines you shouldn’t be allowed near a kitchen. I have watched Ramsay for years and years. Today to my surprise as I was watching this episode my busy grown up family were walking past me and each and every one stopped as they were walking by and pulled up a chair or stood behind me and just kept watching and watching over my shoulder. Even my elderly Mum came up behind me and they pulled up a chair for her and we all sat there besotted with what Ramsay does. Afterwards i learn't that the 19, 21 and 23 year old's said that they too have watched 100's if not thousands of Gordon Ramsay shows in their lives and all agreed - including my elderly mother that he is one of their favourite people in the world. We have learnt so much from him, utterly RESPECT him. It was one of those moments I will never forget. Just thought I would share!

@@enozlliks7794 She absolutely had a valid reason to cry. It's her dear family's restaurant and the food sucks so she is at the front line of witnessing the destruction of her family's dream. She's been in a failing and despondent situation for so long she's most likely depressed. Being depressed can make you emotionally labile/rapid mood switches so that one small inconvenience can cause a crying episode. Just because someone does a certain behavior a lot doesn't take away the validity of the emotions, it can actually mean that someone's mental health needs to be taken seriously.

Peter when being asked to change: "what do you do with a customer that drive all the way to come here and enjoy something that they've had for the last 30 years". This seems to be the recurring attitude amongst the owners. They seem to value that one or two customers that apparently like the food even though they're not coming enough to keep the restaurant from going under.. but they are the sole reason to not change a thing!! You hear it time and time again 😆: "people love the food." "I've never had a complaint".. and yet the restaurant is empty and they're losing money.. I'm amazed at how delusional these people really are.

I don't think I've ever seen Gordon this genuinely angry in an episode. Other times I felt like he was playing it up, but holy shit, this time genuinely shocked me. I completely understand why he did.
