Nicky Rod beat Pena last ADCC, and has beaten both Luke and Big Dan since. Not to mention several of the other over 88kg CJI competitors left their ADCC bracket for CJI. I watched CJI both Friday and Saturday instead of buying the UFC pay-per-view and I’m not even a fan of jiu jitsu. It was just more interesting and different to me than the UFC card was and I was pleasantly surprised. CJI cost me nothing to watch and I still gave about $30 to charity over the course of the 2 days. I had fun watching, felt good about donating to it without breaking the bank, and watched the ufc highlights for free on KZbin after 👍 CJI did exactly what it was meant to do. Gordon won 21-0 in a rule set where points are scored in only half the match... Regardless if someone "likes" Gordon...he is the very best in the sport factually. He has beat or would beat every player in the CJI statistically. Nicky won CJI...and lost multiple times to Gordon, not to mention Nicky R was Gordons student (Nicky stated this previously). CJI was a fun event, with big prizes and statistically second rate competition. Where the very best compete is where the best is...ADCC still has the best. Money doesn't prove legacy. Not to take away from Gordon, because I do believe he's the best grappler on the planet, he did game the system to get most those 21 points. He simple moved one leg from mount to half guard and back over and over while he was in a dominant position. He would have won the match on points anyway, but it would have been more like a 6-0 or 9-0 without him racking up points by gaming the half guard to mount and back. So I can agree with the majority of what Uncle Chael is saying on a technical fall type of situation. But in submission grappling there is always that small chance of the losing competitor getting that sub. Example, when my son was 7 years old he was getting destroyed by his opponent. He was down 12-0, coach yells out “there is 30 seconds left, you have to submit him”. My boy nods his head and grabs a belly down arm bar down to the buzzer and wins. Everyone watching around the mats went bonkers. Just saying, it happens.

Micheal Phelps being most dominant is worth a shout
@paulcox24474 ай бұрын
Michael doesn't hold a single record anymore. Someone has beaten every one of them. Hardly dominant, maybe dominant years ago back when he held records. The sport moved forward since then.

Just a dumb scoring system. Moving between mount and 3/4 is simply a too effective way to collect point.

I like watching because I like watching mutants the amount of steroids going on in bjj, adcc, cji is next level and should be studied. No matter how good I think I am, I'll never be competitive if I did compete, my main concern would be someone's acne popping and hitting my face.

Tldw; BJJ needs tech falls. Things though.... Simone competes at the Olympics, where they at least try to make an even playing field. Gordon is straight up like, you come to me, you play my rules. Admittedly on roids. I mean yeah obviously he's extremely good. But like, I guess he was on that weird Craig guy's card? Was this match a work too if it was? I also didn't know BJJ matches even had points. As said, worst part of BJJ is watching it. When did this happen?

Having the best defense wasn't it , he had boring matches and didn't do adcc any favors with his lackluster matches. The whole adcc was not it, and cji took over the sport with only one event 🙄

Anyone want to inform Chael that Gordon took his foot out and put it back in multiple times to score all his points

I was a Gordon Ryan Instagram follower until he started promoting some gym apparel or something, using some "models" with more plastic than an Indian river.

Whatever you do, do not subscribe to a publishing course. They take your money first, then plan on you not finishing your book. Plus, there is far too much free guidance out there.

CJI killed it! Didn't even watch ADCC. Only got highlights after the fact. You're not even mentioning that Nikki Rodriguez called out Gordon Ryan for a $ 2 million winner Take all match. Wtf?
@billj45254 ай бұрын
Niki gets better all the time. He could be the guy to beat Gordon one day. Or maybe Gordon won't ever let that happen. Hopefully we'll get the chance to see.

Gordon Ryan is treated unfairly by his generation. Danaher is underrated in the same way. They will be venerated in history as the greatest combat sports coach-athlete combo of all time.
