I think it would be interesting if you changed it to the timed kick out rather than the button mash. Makes it possible to kick out later into the game but can have more surprising early finishes if you mess it up. Button mash just takes a bit of the unpredictability out. Not going to get one finisher matches or a crazy kick out after 5 spears for example.

I do kind of miss the old kick out system for this series, I think the ridiculous late game kick outs and the dumb early mistakes just add that layer of unpredictability to it all. We can’t really have people like “resilient Sami” to the same extent when most matches end with a similar amount of finishers.
