There does have to be a stop to combos but it shouldn’t destroy your entire hand and be combo-able with blues AND the ultimate that goes type neutral and he gets two of. It shouldn’t be on a unit with a counter blue, an AoE pseudo-lock in green, endurance, armour break blast cards and a second counter gauge unit on the team who color covers him with the most oppressive anti-purple mechanic of all time in the lock in ult if they get touched once. They need to add some form of skill to counter gauges. I feel like they're necessary for you to not die every time you're hit but theh shouldn't be automatic. I feel like they should make them like green card counters such as orange piccolo and transforming jiren. What I mean is that the gauge could work in the way that you need to press the gauge icon for your character to take the counter stance mid combo and if you're opponent went for a blast then you'll just waste an activation and they could carry on with a combo. That way it would actually require skill to stop your enemy's combos and it won't just nullify 90% of combos for no reason

Ah yes Gohan is the problem not the defensive machine gun that is ultra golden freeza and super 17 with one of them having a better revival mechanic and both with their near infinite cover change and increasing damage. Or or GT Goku who feels like an unbreakable wall that very few units can even leave a dent of damage. I understand some of the annoyance with Gohan but he’s not the sole problem. I’m personally more terrified of golden freeza and 17 cause once they get a hit once there’s a high chance I won’t be playing most of match after that because either they already killed my unit or I’m stuck in an infinite combo.

Thing is unstoppable comboes/infinite comboes have been in the game since 2nd anniversary with vegito blue, Blue unit's mostly counter 17,Yellows and especially the new fusing gogeta counters ultra freiza, and green units and once that have endurance null on there special move counters GT goku, Gohan still is a menace since he has the comboes these guys have, the AOE green card that you can't counter if he vanishes and your in mid animation of something, a counter blue card, the annoying melee counter gauge that destroys your hand and your combo (also being able to pair him with Ultra UI who also has the melee evade gauge) that fusing gogeta only counters but can only do that by chaining strikes, Endurance and 2 ultimates and 2 vanishes when he is last man.
