Love the pattern 💜 I grew up with a multi-colored striped afghan at my grandparents house and I've somehow yet to find a shell stitch (or afghan) pattern that is reminiscent of that afghan, until today! I'll have to see if I can find the actual blanket but I'm pretty sure your pattern is exactly the one I was looking for :D The one small complaint is that the edges don't match (one being shelled and one being straight, but I may be able to work something out.. hopefully 😅)

I really like this pattern. I have to confess that it bugs me that the edges don't match. One edge is scalloped and the other is straight. It bugs me on all patterns that are scalloped. I am certainly gonna make this one!
@BeYou4You2 ай бұрын
Can’t you end the pattern with a scallop or straight edge?
@EAM-o8v2 ай бұрын
Totally agree with you. It’s all well and good to tell people to “just add a scalloped edge” but newer crocheters don’t find it that simple, and a fair few of the fiber flux projects have a similar issue
@theastewart67212 ай бұрын
@@EAM-o8vI may put in a scalloped edge. It’s easy enough to do but I don’t think it will be staggered like the rest of the shawl. Do I care? No I do not. I’m blessed by this pattern. It’s a learning process. ❤

Hi. Is there anyway you can finish the beginning chain to look scalloped like the last row?
@theastewart67212 ай бұрын
I think you may be able to attach yarn at the bottom and put in some scallops. I’m not sure they will line up correctly though. I may give it a try. Or you can finish on an unscalloped row and both ends would match up. I guess it’s just a matter of personal preference.😊

I think I am going to put scallops on the beginning chain row after I’m done with the shawl. I know they won’t be staggered but they will be scallops with the 7 double crochets. I’ll see how it looks. It can’t hurt to try.😊

What would the yarn be in English terms, double knitting, Aran or Chunky. It doesn't look chunky but you are using a 6mm hook.

What does multiple of 6+2 mean I keep seeing this but I always just chain like if it says 6 plus 2 I would 8 or 16 etc or 4 +3 I would do 7 or or 14 etc
@gonasingh57102 ай бұрын
It means that you chain a number which is divisible by 6 and then add 2 more at the end.

Why is the bottom of the project always so tight? As if when you finish it will never lay flat. Not sure if I am explaining it right or not. - beginner.
@rosamercer45782 ай бұрын
It’s got to do with your tension. Your foundation chain is probably too tight . Sometimes I make the foundation chain extra loose or I go up a size on the crochet hook to help with my stitches being tight . Hope this helps 😊
@theastewart67212 ай бұрын
@@rosamercer4578Great advice. Going up a hook size always helps as does really concentrating when making the chain so it’s loose.😊
