Back east in Rhode Island I had a lot of opportunities to forage. Bittersweet vine, pine boughs of all types, pine cones, birch bark and paperbark maple, autumn foliage, puusywillows and forsythia in late winter for forcing, lichen, moss, stones, seashells, rose hips, hydrangeas for drying-most of this in my backyard! I am sure I have forgotten something. Now in the Desert Southwest, I find slimmer pickings. Still find pine cones. There are also cool pieces of skeletonized cacti, and interesting roots and branches, especially of mesquite. Also mesquite bark peels off sometimes. Today I found a small bird’s nest on the ground. I placed in back in a tree. Great projects in this video.

Yellow is such a happy color! I loved the nest, yellow birds and yellow roses. I am scared to forage in AR because of snakes. My maple trees have started to bud, so I may look for a branch to cut. I just wish I could reach the now-empty tiny nest, but I know that is illegal some places.

I really enjoy your videos. I live in the state of Oregon, USA and I forage the exact same things , as you do. I truly love moss, too; I challenge myself to forage as many different varieties as I can and plant them in a shade garden outdoors. Yesterday, I watched your video, talking about bug worries...I place items in zip lock or trash bags with a good bug spray (ortho home defense or bugstop, from Amazon) apply spray directlt to items or spray in bag & seal shut for a week and that takes care of any issues, open every couple of days to check for mildew or dry outside, prior to treating. 😊 I love natural woodland crafts as well as velvet, tapestry, lace, crazy quilt & denim crafts. As far as mushroom spores, I am thinking if you spray with a matte fixative would possibly prevent that.???

Oh that's awesome!!! Yes, we would be collecting a lot of the same things 😃So cool!!! Those are excellent tips, thank you. I never thought of bug spray. I believe this is my 2nd time watching this video. I loved it that much and wanted to create peat pots like yours. I recently moved into a tiny cottage and the owners live on property too. They have over 20 acres and I was welcomed to wander around as pleased. Ivevforaged some beautiful birch and twigs. I'm about to look 4 moss and other things in nature. I want to make a birds nest and I know u have a tutorial so I'm watching that next. I love it here in the country in upstate NY. I'm originally from LI. As I grew up there everything is surrounded by beaches and the water. This change to the country has its ups and downs but I've been here over 30 years. I enjoy watching you and your creativity is so inspiring. Thank you 4 sharing your projects and your knowledge of things of nature. I also watch making it my own with Brandy. The 2 of you are my favorite to watch on you tube.

I'm in Southern Arizona so there's not a whole lot of the types of materials that you use. But we do have Ocotillo and other type of cactus skeleton. We also do you have branches from trees but they're very different from the trees that you have. There are some places that have pine cones but those are rare. Most everything that we have here has stickers Galore. But I am gaining inspiration on how to use the materials in my area from your videos. So thank you. These are SO sweet for spring decor. They're all very cute. That last one is just adorable! I can't forage like I used to but where I live we can find MANY things to use in our crafts. I live in the north central part of Kentucky in the country. If you research that just a little, you'll see the wide variety of things that surround me. VERY beautiful area I get to call home 💖. I also have 3 major waterways that run through my county...2 of which come together & that area is known to locals as "the point". One of the rivers that come together there is the great Ohio River. All of these were beautiful! Here in NW Florida we have pine, cedar, oak, sweet gum, cypress, some maple, China berry, pecan and a few others I'm probably forgetting but unfortunately no Burch trees and our pine trees don't make those tiny pinecones I like to use in Christmas crafts. We also have several fruit trees that make pretty limbs to use. We don't have a true fall season with the pretty colors here but I have dried many different leaves from different trees and bushes and would love to use them some how, any ideas?
