Affordable pricing is a Soviet legacy. It was their intention to have high culture be as accessible as it can to the masses. That's also the rationale for the ostentatious Moscow metro.

I often travel outside of Moscow to other parts of Russia, my aim is to not only do the sightseeing, but to get ‘theater’ experience as well. So I visit local concerts, ballet, opera, theatre - it’s still high quality, but even more affordable comparing to Moscow prices)

Наши новые станции тоже хороши. Были сложные времена, было не до роскоши, метро живет вместе со страной, переживает те же проблемы. Но технически все в порядке, хотя блеска могло быть поменьше. Убраны все урны со станций, потому, что были теракты в метро, но грязнее не стало. Уборщица сказала: «Лучше мы уберем» . Спасибо ей

Are you a keen classical music fan or just loving this kind of architectural masterpieces? Just as a side note: As a matter of fact, despite being a huge fan of armwrestling, pizza and dashcam videos and a "man of culture" 😉, I am also quite active and even well-known in the international classical music scene since I was the one who has rediscovered a great Austrian composer from the early 20th century and paved the way of the renaissance of his works in the concert halls. I am also quite familiar with parts of the Russian classical music of the early 20th century.

@@englishmaninrussia It's the Austrian late-romantic and impressionistic composer Joseph Marx (1882-1964). He was a huge admirer of Russian composer Aleksander Scriabin, btw.

Silly comment. Acoustics are excellent from those seats and having been multiple times to this venue in various areas I am in a position to be able to determine that.

@@englishmaninrussia You can find plenty of Russian women who would want to marry you to leave Russia. I'd say find the one who is willing to stay in Russia with you. This way, you will know she really likes you, not your home country.
